Really? While I'm not as big a fan of HOS' page as some people are, I don't find HHN's page to be anything special especially compared to previous years.

And I'm sorry, but Julian the Usher? I cannot wait for next year's icon, Henrietta the Librarian!

i'm loving this year's site..............

just finished going thru all of it.

it's going to be good this year.
.

Am I the only one that is not feeling the movie theme? I would much rather walk through a house with an original concept and idea than a house based on a preexisting license.

I really like it, especially the classic monsters.

Thank's Universal for pulling this one out. I love the whole site and I'm really looking forward to "Experiencing the Movies" in a whole different way.

I think it will be cool to go through houses that I will recognize things from and be able to point out props and devices that I've seen in action. Plus the scarezones look completely awesome.

I am now in . . . CAN'T WAIT MODE!!!!!!!!

They just sent out a press release with the house descriptions, which I just posted in an article: http://bit.ly/FGr7R

Sounds like it has some good promise. I'm neutral on the concept of using movies vs. original material. Some of my favorite houses have been movie-based so I think there is lots of potential.

Really there's only 3 based on prexisting licenses. Yes, Frankenstein and Dracula are already preexisting characters, both of their houses are brand new and original. As are the 2 Fangoria houses.

I am totally looking forward to this year!!

I was reading the house descriptions on the website last night and agree, there is a lot of potential there for great houses!!

The conference call was great...lots of info. on the Saw house. I'll post a link to my article once I write it, but I wanted to share that I asked about the backstage tours and was told to watch the website...not a no, but to watch the site...I get the feeling there will be good news this year. The call tape is going to be put onto the Facebook page but they didn't say when.

Actually I've been told they will be offering the behind the scenes tour this year - things are being finalized and as soon as they are, it will be posted on the website :thumbsup2

OOOOOOOH great news, I am so excited! I have never done the Behind the Scenes tours (Unmasking the Horror and Behind the Screams, right?) and was soooo sad when they stopped offering them. I know this is slightly off-topic but does anyone recall what days/times these tours were offered in the past and how much they were? Not that it REALLY matters, I'm doing it no matter what!!! Thanks!

The one we did two years ago was in the afternoon...they might have had earlier offerings, but I liked doing that one because it was probably near to quitting time by the time we were talking to the creative team, so they spent a ton of time chatting with us...probably just running down the clock. It was great. I'm so glad they're doing this again; I could tell by the response in the conference that it wasn't a no, but more like a yes, but we can't give the detauls yet. I don't remember what it cost, but I do remember thinking it was pretty reasonable...we did the more detailed of the two (not sure if they'll have just one option or two this year).

this year will be unique as it is the first time for all the houses to be based on a horror movie.

once it unravels more Slacking, you might get more into it.
there have been some years that i have attended and thought some houses just didn't cut it for me.

I honestly can't remember the exact times and prices but I do remember the cost was reasonable and they were offered in the afternoon. We'll just need to keep a watch on the website for more details.
