HHI Waitlist

Anyone had any luck with the wait list at HHI? I called this morning to book a 1bdr 0n 7/25 to 7/31. Nothing avail on 7/25 or 7/26. MS said she would put me in a 1 bdr starting on 7/27 and waitlist for first 2 days. I said okay and then she said oops sorry the 1 bdr is no longer avail for the rest of the week? I said what happened? She said she couldn't hold it, I said hold it for what you told me what was available and I said okay. what was the hold??? this does not sound right...... So now I am in a studio for 7/27 through 7/31 and on a waitlist for 1 bdroom 7/25 through 7/31? I really don't like this new booking rule....

Being that HHI is small, you are lucky that to even have a studio.

It sounds as though it was available when the CM checked but it was taken by another member while she was talking with you. There are only 21 Studios and 21 1BRs at HH and most were already reserved by HH owners using the 11 month priority. Since today was the first chance for reservations at 7 months for July 25/26 I'm certain there were a number of requests for those villas.

I would still use the waitlist as availability is likely to change over the next 7 months. The summer months are the absolute busiest at HH - especially for the limited number of GVs, Studios and 1BRs at that resort (there are only 5 GVs).

Now, what is this new booking rule that you are referring to? Did I miss something?

We're going to HHI for the first time in May, but from what I've heard it's much easier to get in before Memorial day.

It used to be 7 mos out based on check out date. Now you can book on check in date, plus 7 days in advance. I have never had a issue in the past at HHI, when I called daily and booked one day at a time. Thanks for the Pixie dust, but We decided to head to Vero instead of hoping for a waitlist.

Yes, September/October should be an easier reservation at 7 months. For most of the year, the 2BR villas are easiest to get at 7 months. GVs, Studios and 1BRs are always a challenge simply because there are so few of them.

September and October are delightful months to be there. The ocean will still be in the upper 70's/low80's, air temps remain in the 80's, the summer crowds are gone and all activities are still in full swing at the resort. This fall, the resort stayed at full capacity into November - so reservations within 7 months can still be a challenge. Be sure to call right at 7 months if possible.

My brother and sister in law called at the 7 month mark for a 1 bedroom for June 13-19 and they had to waitlist.
It came through less than a week later. So there's always hope!

I think we will try for HHI in October and use the Food & Wine festival as a backup! Can't go wrong with that!
