HHI - Tide Me Over Closed for Refurbishment

We have our first visit to HHI coming up in a couple of weeks. We received in the mail a letter notifying us that Tide Me Over is going to be closed for what sounds like a minor refurbishment during our stay. I hadn't seen this posted anywhere.

Does anyone know the actual dates that it will be closed?

It will be closed until Sept 2. They are doing a complete refurb of the kitchen.

It really surprises me that they're doing it now, at the height of the busy season. But since we go in November, this is exciting news for us. I wonder if there'll be any changes to the menu.

Are there any other food options at HH? We will be there from Aug 31-Sept 3.

Signals is located at the Beach House. There are a number of restaurants across the marina and tons a short drive away. There aren't any other food options at the main resort.

I THINK I heard that while Tide Me Over is closed, the resort is giving a 10% discount at the Shelter Cove restaurants. Does anyone else know for sure if this is true?

Some of the Shelter Cove restaurants are already on the discount list for the resort. I know Scott's Fish Market and San Miguel's is for sure.

There is a burger place in the new Shelter Cover area by Kroger that is giving at 10% discount for resort guests as well.

We are set to check in towards the end of August and received the letter today. I just came online to see if I could find more information. I found one site that lists the date of refurbishment as August 2 - September 20, 2015. I wasn't planning to dine at Tide Me Over a lot, but taking a shuttle to Signals (as Disney is "inviting" us to do in the letter) doesn't exactly strike me as convenient if I am at the Big Dipper pool midday with my kids or if we want Mickey waffles for breakfast. I find the news disappointing.

I heard it is going to be closed for 2 months. We are going the beginning of September and got the letter letting us know it is closed.

Giuseppis Pizza by Kroger(bikeable) also gives a resort discount as well! GOOD PIZZA!

SURPRISING that the renovation would be deferred until "after Labor Day" when the crowds die down? Good for you that it will be done in November though for your trip!

Good morning everyone! Very long time lurker first time poster. At Vero Beach now but was at Hilton Head August 3-5. Tide me over was closed and they seem to be gutting the inside out. The soda machines were still working and there was a cart to get alcoholic drinks I believe by the pool until 4 or 5. I'm sorry I had just arrived back from the beach house and they were announcing last call for drinks but I can't remember the exact time. The cast member in the store said tide me over would be closed until September sometime.

WELCOME! Hope that you had a fabulous time at HHI! STRANGE that during "busy summer season" they would choose to renovate! Anyway, thanks for the update and since you mentioned that you are in Vero, you might be the perfect person to ask. Read somewhere on the board that during '16, a renovation is planned for Vero? Did you hear anything about that, timeline, extent of reno, and if pool will be effected? TIA!

I had a wonderful time at HHI and also at POLY for 6 days too!! I haven't heard anything except from a thread a week or two ago on these boards about the renovation. I just arrived yesterday but will post if I hear anything.

Hi All,

Stayed at HHI last week and Tide Me Over is in fact closed till mid Sept. The rapid refill station is still operational. There was a small "bar" set up near the main pool which has a last call of 3pm (a bit early if you ask me). I think it is in some sort of testing phase to see if there are enough sales to have a permanent bar. They served smoothies as well for the kiddos. I did not even realize it was a bar until the second day we were there and they announced the last call for drinks. It was not getting much activity! We only used it a few times after that.

Hi, do those of you who have been at HHI while Tide Me Over has been closed know if Signals at the Beach House is serving breakfast? I was hoping to get some Mickey waffles while we are at HHI!

The letter we received said that Signals would be serving breakfast from 8:00 - 10:00 and lunch/dinner from 11:00 - 6:00.
