HHI May or August 7 months out

From what I am reading on this boards it looks like a 7 month out vacation for HHI for a 2 bedroom is very difficult?

What do you guys think of a 7 month out booking of a May HHI vacation for a 2 bedroom?

Do you think that is a better idea?

I checked the weather for HHI in May and it looks great.

This year May started out fabulous but it has been rain, rain, rain since the 16th.
I would still shoot for May as the flowers are out and the air is filled with jasmine. The temps can be more agreeable too.

August is incredibly oppresive - awful humidity. Don't do it if you have an alternative.

I think I am also thinking more May than August at this point.
Checking the annual rainfall for May for HHI it said that was one of the more drier months so maybe this May is an outlier.

We booked the last week of July at the 7 month window and did not have any problem. My dates were flexible so I booked a week then called back each day to cancel the first day and added a day at the end. I was happy with the dates to begin with but the later dates were ideal.

Avoid summer weeks in HHI. The place is BUSY, the air is hot, and the ocean temps are too warm to cool you off much. May and October are great months.

We've been having to visit in early April the last couple years because of the kid's school schedules and it's been a bit too cold for us. We look forward to when we can start staying at the end of May again instead in a few years.

It has been unusually rainy here this month but May is usually a great month to go!

We have been going to HHI for 3 years now, this August will be out 4th year. We always go in August and have never had an issue getting a 2 bdrm at the 7 month window. We have never been able to get a Grand Villa which is what I always try for but oh well...I will agree with others it is HOT...but not unbearable. If hot and humid isnt your thing then definitly go for May. Either way ENJOY!!!
