We are making our 1st DVC HHI visit and have heard of the low country boil that is served 1 night at the resort. I can only find limited info about it and was wondering what everyone thought of it~ what is served? Is it actually good food? We have 2 adults, 2 15 year olds, 1 13 year old, and an 8 year old in our group. We are leaving tomorrow, so i am really looking forward to your thoughts~ thanks

We did it a couple of years ago. The food is very good - boiled shrimp, sausage, corn on the cob, potatoes and a number of other items. It is served at the Beach House. The only problem is - it is a little pricey for our tastes. I believe it is in the $50 range for adults. So we've decided to pass on it this trip (next week) since there are three of us. But if just DW and myself we might would do it.

If possible, go and decide for yourself. DH and I went together, ate from the same buffet. I was sort of "Eh" about it, thought it was just OK-DH raved about it and thought it was excellent!

We did it once. The potatoes are very mushy, since they've been boiled. I can only eat so many shrimp/mushy potatoes/maybe one piece of corn on the cob. The food is fine, there just isn't much variety, so for us, it isn't a very good deal. B'Lou Crabbe was playing a mandolin, or banjo during the dinner, and telling stories, so he was entertaining as always.

Just checked in today. It is this thursday night. the menu is showing all that was described as well as smoked sausage, spanish rice, gumbo, Marinated Port Tenderloin, Hushpuppies, Salad and desserts. price is showing Adult $24.95 and Kids 3-9 $9.95. We are going to try it and see how it is. My DH is excited about it.

we did not get to the low country boil, Tink SS did you? If so, was it worth the cost? We actually went to a low country backyard restaurant- a small, home-ish place I think it is on Palmetto Bay rd... it was very good and prices were reasonable. Given the name, it did not offer a boil but rather comfort food dishes- bischick chicken, a special meatloaf with peach BBq sauce, fresh fish, and homemade banana pudding....it is a place we will definitely visit again!
