HHI kids night out experiences

We were considering doing the kids night out this year but we didn't look into it too much last year because we thought the kids were a little young. Can anyone tell me your experiences and whether the kids liked it. We have a 4 and 6 yr old. Do they take them off site to a movie theater? any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

We went in April 2011 and our DD's were 5 and 7 at the time. We signed them up for Kid's Nite Out and dropped them off at the Community Hall. The CM asked if we would be picking them up at the conclusion of the event. I gave her a puzzled look, like, "Duh"...but she pointed out that a lot of parents just let their kids walk back to their villas unaccompanied. After they were signed in, DH and I took off to our own "night out".

When we picked the girls up, they were so excited. The group took the Disney resort van to the movie theatre where they saw "Hop". After the movie, they came back to the community hall for pizza and lemonade. They also played a few games until we picked them up. It was the best $50 we could have spent! The girls has 3 hours of entirely supervised fun and DH and I had 3 hours of entirely unsupervised fun.

From what I understand, the activities vary throughout the week. We were only there for 5 nights and KNO was offered on our arrival and departure nights and one night in between. I imagine that the activity (movie, mini-golf, or whatever) varies each week to keep a variety for kids who are there for a full week.

Just what I was hoping to hear. I'm sure they'll love it.

FYI- I called the hotel for information about this as I have kids the same age and was also hoping for a night out. They told me that the minimum age was 5 years old though. Not sure how strictly they enforce that, but I wanted to pass it on.

hmmm, I wonder if they would let someone through a few months early. I guess we'll find out in a few weeks!
