Hey Folks

We are toying with an early December pre-Christmas trip to HHI. I realize that it will be cool and that beach swimming won't be on. I am assuming it is still nice to walk on beach and that Christmas decorations will be up at resort and Savannah and Charleston etc. Just wondering about what others who have gone during this period thought of their trip and whether they would recommend.

thx for any thoughts

We'll be there in early December as we've been many times before. We go for Thanksgivng, and sometimes our trip extends into December. Yes, we've often walked along the beach, both at the beach house (where we've seen dolphins) and at Port Royal. Christmas decorations are up a at the resort, and they're playing Christmas music already. Otherwise, there's really not much to do-you don't have the "joy" of waiting in line at restaurants, no long lines at the supermarkets, and not even any huge traffic jams to try to maneuver. Just a plain, wonderful time.

I just booked the first week in December and was also concerned about weather and activities. I think a relaxing vacation before the craziness of the holidays sounds great. Here's hoping that the weather is good that week.:)
