Just made our ressies for next June and found a clip of Gregg Russell on Youtube. I'm ready to go now! June seems like a long time away!

Star Spangled Tuesdays, marsh walks, beach walks......come on June!

Me too!! I sent my son and his gf to HH last weekend for 4 nights - they were on college fall break. I was so envious when they would call me. He had never gone with me before, and he really liked it. They said the ocean was cool, but they still got in. They loved the wide beach, and sitting on the porch facing the marsh. He said the traffic on the island was not bad at all, and they ate at some wonderful restaurants. He even got building 15 which is my favorite! Oh well, June 2008 will be here before we know it.....maybe!

My family is going down to HH for the first time over spring break. My kids will be 15 & 13. I would appreciate any information on what to do and where to go.

We drive down from NJ not a bad trip. I do all the driving hit the road at about 10 or 11 pm drive all the way down. We stop for gas and potty this year I got there in 12 hr 38 min. If Greg Russell is at Sea pines go see him. Disney has a lot for the kids to do.Do a tour dolphins watching A +++. If you like to fish hit the pier you can also crab from there. Thay have rentals if you don't bring your poles or nets. If you have any more questions just Pm me and I will help with what I can. I think I still have some books from things to do on HHI If you would like I can mail them out to you.:thumbsup2

We're going the first week of June, as well, and I cannot wait!!
We skipped HH this year(we did WDW Dec., April and Aug. instead) and it's been too long!! I've started going through all my HH pics, dreaming of being there..

We're hitting HHI for a Thanksgiving Family Reunion! We tried to get a Grand villa but that didn't pan out, so we got a two bedroom and a one bedroom.

We drove over for a day trip a few weeks ago. We just wandered the property and had lunch. A very plessant day was had indeed.

The attached link will take you to a slide show of our stay last January.

PM me your email address and I will send you the activity sheets for HHI from this last June. Anybody else is welcome to PM me too.

Just got back! Greg Russell even did a special "off-season" show Saturday night, the culmination of an early trick-or-treat thing they had going on with the merchants in Harbour Town that day. I was probably more excited than my kids to see to Greg Russell---they were kind of laughing at me. But I missed being there all last summer! Anyway, it was time to introduce the baby to a family tradition....:)

Hi.
My 7month window to book HH will open next week. We are really hoping to check in Jun 1. This will be our first trip to HH. I'm so excited with reading all the fun things to do. We just got back from the cruise, which was a wonderful time!! We will be driving to HH from PA. I hear it's about 13hrs from here. Keeping my fingers crossed for our HH dates. Thanks for all the HH info.
Carla

We just got back from HHI a couple of weeks ago. It was wonderful. I took a walk on the beach in the early morning right before low tide- there were so many creatures to see and lots of shells! I had never seen a hermit crab in the wild before- or a live whelk (oh, no, I did once in the middle of the night in Hatteras- when my drunken uncle came in off the beach still wearing his lighted helmet and walked into the room where I was sleeping, intending to show someone else the live whelk he nearly shoved in my face, while at the same time blinding me with the aforementioned helmet- so I don't know if I really count that!) or a starfish.

We saw dolphins in Broad Creek while playing horseshoes. We saw a rainbow and watched a hummingbird visit the cuphea in the landscaping in front of our deck. I managed to find out what the cuphea was by asking at the nursery down the road and brought home 2 of them. They are now planted on the sunny side of my house so I can enjoy them everyday and hopefully keep the hummingbird that visits my yard coming around (it seems to like the rose of sharon in my back yard, but that will have to come down when we eventually redo our deck).

Oh, and my dh and I had dinner alone (together, but without the kids! it was our first date since April!) at Marley's Island Grille. We recommend it, especially if you're slightly adventurous and like food from around the world. Our dinners had thai, caribbean, and polynesian flavors.

Yes, we definitely enjoyed Hilton Head. I have no idea when we'll be able to go back, but I'm sure we will eventually.

Lesley,
I want to try Marley's this summer!
The food sounds wonderful, though DH and I might have to bring the kids (4, 6). Is it child-friendly at all?

Thanks! :)
