HHI DVC Opening Guesses

I think that VB and HHI will definitely open first. It is a lot easier to manage social distancing at a resort pool or with beach chairs (here in AL they have beach patrols enforcing the distancing, you can have chairs, but they must be 10 feet from the next party). I do think that you may be dealing with food services as walk-up/take away only for awhile though...

Yes, DH said that he thought that HHI resort was ideal for social distancing (since we go in November, the pool isn't really an issue) as opposed to WDW.

We are supposed to be there in just over 2 weeks as well - I am trying not to get my hopes up but haven't made alternate plans yet either.

I am curious though - if DVC resorts outside of WDW will open before WDW resorts....or if that is even possible.
I wouldn't be surprised if Vero Beach and Hilton Head were to open before any Disney park resort since it is much easier to do crowd control and to keep up on the disinfecting the resorts.

This was my thought also. We have an early June reservation at Vero and I’m holding out hope they will be open. These two resorts run almost entirely independent of WDW if my memory serves me right, based on conversations with CM’s.

Yeah I think the two biggest factors in these resorts reopening before WDW will be 1. the ability to know exactly who and how many guests will be there at any given time - where with WDW resorts, you could have anyone walking around in a lobby or going through after they get off the monorail or after a day in the parks. and 2. no parks - yes, people can leave the resort (and do) and do other things but for the most part those activities are really limited.
