HHI - Dolphin Cruise, Beachcombing Outing, or both?

Well, I just can't decide! For those of you who have done one or the other, or both, please give me your opinions! My kids really really want to see dolphins up close & personal, which I understand you get to do on the Dolphin Cruise, but if we can have that same experience on the Beachcombing Outing, maybe I could get away with just paying for one?? Help!

We did both last summer and saw LOTS of dolphins. They were both fantastic experiences which we'll probably never be able to repeat again. We arranged through Disney and Scott was our guide.

If I had to pick just one, I'd probably go with the beach combing. It's a longer duration and you get to spend time hunting for shell and sanddollars (hint -- look up by where the high tide was, not where the tide is on the beach at that time because those shells are still alive and you can't keep them but the ones up by where high tide was have long expired).

When we go in July we'll probably do both again, although I think my DH and DS7 would like to try the shark fishing. We'll see. I'll bet you'll be pleased with whichever you decide.

When we were there in April we did the dolphin cruise and really enjoyed that. We met people who did the beach combing, and everyone seemed to have really enjoyed that too, except for ones with real young children. The length of it and the fact that strollers aren't useable had a few parents complaining about having to carry around tired children. Other than that complaint it sounded like a great time. Hope that helps.

cgcw...we had Scott as our captain for the Dolphin Cruise last June. He was great!!!!! He let our kids help collect bait while we were out for an upcoming fishing trip and even gave me a sand dollar he found on a Beachcombing cruise earlier.


I would like the Beachcombing myself because I just love the beach and collecting shells, but I think DH and DS (12 and 13) would vote for the boat ride and sticking to the dolphin cruise.


Sorry, but I think our family would have a tough time deciding.......the Dolphin Cruise was wonderful and I think Beachcombing would be as well!
