For anyone who remembers Scott and Darren who worked for Disney doing the dolphin and beach combing experiences, they have started their own business. They are working right out of Shelter Cove Marina. The business name is Lowcountry Nature Tours and phone number is 843-683-0187.
We asked for Scott when we booked our Disney dolphin tour and we were told he no longer worked there. So, we tried the new crew for the tour and saw maybe 5 dolphins. Very different from our experience last year. Very disappointing!
One day, we're riding bikes along the walkway by the Shelter Cove Marina and we saw Scott and Darren crusing along in their new boat. We set up to go beach combing with them. Scott took us out a couple of mornings later. We saw many dolphins including a mother and baby. The baby even jumped out of the water twice. There were other dolphins that came right up to the boat. If our 7 year old had longer arms he could have touched it!! Scott took us out into the Atlantic to see the fishing boats on our way to Daufuskie Island. It was very calm that morning and he said he couldn't pass us the opprotunity. Scott let both of our kids "drive" the boat which was a big thrill for them. When we got to Daufuskie, Scott got off the boat and walked along the beach with us, pointing out many things we would have walked right past. Our kids helped "save" several star fish and sand dollars from drying up on the beach. Although it was very different from the experience we had last year, it was truly awesome!! We will definately call Scott before we venture down to HH again to arrange tours with him.
Scott also gave us a recommendation for water sking and babna boating. A place called Time on the Water, Todd Crawford. That phone number is 843-290-2802 if anyones interested.
