Anyone know of a good bakery in Hilton Head? I need to have a birthday cake made while we are there. Close to the resort would be a bonus!
Thanks!

Signe's Bakery on Arrowhead Road. They have wonderful pound cake, brownies, cupcakes ect... I am not sure they do decorated cakes but they do bake excellent cakes. I actually had one shipped to Chicago for my sons 21st birthday. Google them and there is a menu and phone number to call.

There is another one on the right as you head away from the resort towards Sea Pines. It is next to a convenience store if I remember right. They had very good donuts, I remember. I'm not sure if they are still open or not, because I've had to skip them last couple of trips due to diabetes.

I have to say, I see a lot of people rave about Signe's. We went there once and I didn't like it that much. I know that is probably blasphemy, but we haven't been back. Maybe it is they just don't serve the same kind of baked goods we're used to (Krispy Kreme).

Publix at Sea Pines circle has an excellent bakery. They make many specialty cakes at a reasonable price.

I'll forgive you, but for us, it wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a few pieces of Signe's pies.
One warning about Piggly Wiggly-although we've never ordered a cake there-when we've looked at the bakery, they have some awesome looking desserts. However, whenever I've eaten any (I love sweets) I've always been very disappointed-although it looks great, it always tastes dry. I've been to Signe's website and she makes some beautiful wedding cakes-let's hope they taste as good as they look.
