We will hopefully be new DVC members soon.i will probably have access to my points mid October. We would like to book a trip to HHI either late March or first week of June. I know June and July are high demand for HHI, but will it be impossible to book a one bedroom there during early June 7 months out or should we go for March? Or can I book March and then switch March to WDW if we are able to get HHI in June?

Thanks for any advice!

I think for the first week of June, if you booked right at 7 months you would have a decent shot at getting HHI. Most schools or at least most of the mid-atlantic and northeast are still in school at that point. It is harder to get for later June, July, and August.

And I would rather go in June than March if you are looking for beach time and swimming. We went over spring break this past year at the end of April and the ocean temp was still to cold to swim - well except for our youngest?!?! :lmao:

You may have difficulty getting a 1BR at 7 months for either of those times because there are only 21 1BRs in the entire resort. You would probably have better luck with a 2BR since there are 76 of those.

It's not impossible, though;). Before we bought points at HHI, I was able to book 5 consecutive nights, starting on Easter, in a 1BR at 7 months without wait listing. It can be done, but the stress was too much...so we bought some HHI points so we didn't have to worry about the 7-month availability.

We are already inside 7 months for early March and Spring Break is usually a busy time. In addition, there are only 21 Studios and 21 1BRs at the resort and those do go pretty quickly. Studios disappear faster than the 1BRs though, so you might be OK if you check immediately when your points are in the account.

It is certainly worthwhile checking availability once you have points loaded into your account and make your plans according to what is available at that time at both HH and/or WDW.

Good luck! :)

Thanks for all of the information. I will check availability when we get our points and plan our course of action.
