We live in SC and they been members since 98, but still haven't gone to Hilton Head DVC. Not sure if we will have the points to go there and also to Florida, but if we are DVC members staying in HHI, just somewhere else, can we use the facilities - beach, club house, etc? I would imagine we could, but wanted to check. This would be a great get away for my DD and I (DH doesn't do the beach or pool) and we could just stay somewhere else.

Any suggestions or advice would be great. Thanks - Diane :cool1:

I don't know if HHI is different, but experienced members here have always stated that you have no resort privileges if you are not staying on your points (no "day" privileges like other timeshare companies may offer). I have heard of people driving over to Vero Beach and using the pool - pool hopping - while staying on their DVC points at Walt Disney World, but your situation is different. And I believe the answer is no.

I would say no. That would be like BCV owners wanting to use Stormalong Bay when they are staying elsewhere. Doesn't the beach house have a room key entrance?

The beach is a public beach, so you can certainly use that providing you are staying somewhere else in Palmetto Dunes that gives you access to thru the guard gate. You can certainly visit the resort and walk around, but access to the Beach House itself is only available to registered guests of the resort using their room key.

As with other DVC resorts, members are only considered "guests" when they have a reservation at the resort. Some timeshares do offer day privileges for owners, but DVC does not.

You should consider making a reservation at HH if you wish to use the facilities there.
