HHI around Memorial Day?

Has anyone been to Disney's HHI around Memorial Day/first week of June? Is it very hot? Crowded? We're not swimmers, but we like to bike. Is it too hot to comfortablely bike around? Lots of No Seeums? When we were there last week, they said something about fireworks every week, I thought. When does that start? Is the resort hard to book at 7 months if we want to go then? Any info will help us decide when to go if we can't go in March-Memorial Day week or January.

Late May is a great time to enjoy HH. The temps will be warm enough to enjoy being outside and the ocean temperature is usually pleasant by that time.

Once schools get out for the summer, the HH resort is very busy until school starts back up on the fall.

I think you'll find late May to be a great time to enjoy the resort.

HHI is very nice Memorial Day. It can be very hot in the afternoon, but there is usually a nice breeze on the beach that time of year. It is excellent for biking, especially when the tide is out. There is a wide expanse of hard-packed sand to ride on, so pedaling isn't a real chore.

One word of caution: traffic that weekend is nuts! Arrive Thursday or early Friday if you can. Friday afternoon and evening will be bumper to bumper. Same thing all day Memorial Day, so leave Tuesday if possible.

We haven't actually visited the Disney Resort, but we've been on the island twice over Memorial Day, so we can't speak to specific activities. Have a great time!

have been to hhi 4 times for memorial day weekend...the weather was lovely about 85 degrees, just balmy and beautiful. the crowds and traffic WE found were NOT crazy or busy at all as we thought we would find. the fireworks and more summery traditions however begin the first or 2nd week in june so you would miss that, i think. isnt it wonderful down there? we were there i guess the same time that you were (2421) and although we had a fabulous time, we really really missed the warmer weather that we have encountered in late march, april and may. good luck.....(missing bryan the naturalist, b'lou crabbe, shadow, &every extra friendly cast member that makes hhi SO special).

I do remember meeting some people from NY on both the Secrets of the Marsh tour and Beach Walk with Bryan. You wouldn't forget us-we were the couple always walking around looking up (it's amazing we didn't bump into anyone) because we're bird watchers. Saw almost 50 different kinds of birds there in 5 days!

We'll be there Memorial Day weekend--arriving on Sunday. mickeys#1fan, do you think we'll be stuck in traffic then, also? We plan to go to Savannah the Saturday before--any suggestions?

I'm glad to hear that it's a good time to go. I was worried that it would be SO busy and we'd made a mistake. This will be our first time for longer than 2 days and I'm somewhat apprehensive as I always am when I go somewhere new for an extended time. (However, I'm quite excited too!)

HHI isn't far from Savannah. By Sunday the traffic shouldn't be bad at all. You should have a very nice drive. I hope your vacation is magical!
