Is HHI asking everyone to wear masks even outside around the resort. Not trying to start a debate. Just have a nephew going with us that is autistic and having problems with wearing one. I might have to ask my sister to stay home with him. I feel bad because she is a recent widow and really wants to go on this trip in November.

Yes. Face masks on property except while actively eating/drinking or on pool deck. Now, I would call the front desk and explain situation they may do an exception.
HHI itself has a mask mandate as well inside businesses, but not outside where you can socially distance.

See you at HHI in November. My understanding is that they're pretty firm about masks at the resort, but not around the pool. We're probably going to be spending a lot of time in our villa, doing take-out from most restaurants.

Yes, around pool is no mask. We went last month and will be there in November as well. We wore it all on property except at the picnic tables when eating and pool. Everywhere else we did. Restaurants they do ask you wear your mask until after you order and get drinks/food even outside. Last trip we only at at two places and ate outside. Everything else was take out for us since it was only a weekend. November trip we plan to cook in the villa or grill most time.

We were there in August. He will be fine walking around outside at the resort without a mask. Technically he is supposed to have one on but we saw lots of people on Disney HH property without masks outside. Adults and children. We also saw people wearing gators, which is also technically “illegal” on Disney property. In most cases if people were wearing masks, they had them around their necks until they got close to you and then pulled them up. If you go to the mercantile or community hall, cast members enforce it there. As others have said, you also don’t need it once you enter the pool gate. If you go off property, pretty much 75% of people are not wearing masks anywhere except the grocery. We went to 4 restaurants off property and no masks. We also have a child who refuses to wear a mask.
