Hi there...will be going to HHI for the first time from July 10-17.....what is the process for getting registered for the activities and how do I get a list for when we will be there? Is it only available the week prior or can I get something earlier? Can it be faxed?

Mostly looking for the children's activities...will be there will family group of 14....children ages 9 to 1 year.......

Thanks!

You'll get all of the weeks activities at arrival. I'm not aware of many activities with a limit on participants. We've never had a problem just registering once on site. We'll be there the week before you arrive.

The list does change from week to week, so an advance list may not apply to the week you're there anyway. I'm sure you can call the resort and they can fax a copy of this week's schedule for information.

Have a great trip!

If I remember correctly, you can only register for most activities within 24 hours. The CMs explained that that's so that people don't call ahead and book everything, leaving nothing available for people when they get to the resort. I think a few paid activities can be booked further ahead, but I don't remember how far.

We were able to sign up for all activites except the unbirthday party for the whole week. The Unbirthday party could only be booked 24 hours in advance. I forgot and registered late in the day, the day before, and only 2 other kids had signed up.....

All had spaces availble, most classes were empty.

And most classes were offered twice in a given week.

Your mileage may vary.

There are great activities at HHI. DS has done many of them. some of the ones he enjoyed most might surprise you: meeting Shadow the mystical golden lab is real and the meet and great was amazing to see that dog with about a dozen kids and their parents all petting her and taking pictures; marsh exploration was a hit as was the canoe trip(with a parent);campfires are open to all;pool games are scheduled at each of the pools and are also open to all-really are great-brings kids together and are lots of fun;kids night out took them to a movie and McDonald's. If you are there over a tues the fireworks are free and are set off right by the resort. It is a wonderful place to be by the beach and relax...we call it our REAL vacation-no craziness like WDW. But we love both!

How many activities are geared toward adults or are the mainly for kids?

Adult activities I can remember:
dolphin cruise
kayak excursions
cooking class
nature walks
wine tasting(I think once????)

We just got back last Thurs from our trip to HH. You can call the Friday before your arrival date and they can fax an activities list to you. I actually called a few days before that and the young lady was very kind to send one to me with the caveat that I understand the schedule changes week to week.

There was no problem booking anything for us. I highly recommend the kayak trip - even w/kids. (Need an accompanying adult for the child though). DS is 9 & DD is 6 and they really enjoyed it.

Also, I recommend the Gyotaku. Gotta do it. It was an activity we ALL loved - even Grandpa who usually doesn't do much when we are on vacation!

It's also a lot of fun to crab from the pier. They don't stress that as much as the activities but crab nets are cheap at Walmart $2.50 vs. $5 at the resort) and the kids love seeing our catch at high and low tide.

A great place to relax and enjoy the family time.
