Ok, I really need your help. I have been calling trying to get anything there for these dates. Today, I got lucky and got a studio. It will be me, my DIL and 2 grandaughters ages 15 months and almost 3. She will be three on the 16th of August. What is there to do for them, where can we eat? Are there umbrellas at the pool? I am so excited, this is my first time there. My DH will be out of town and so will my DS. We both thought why should we stay home, let's go some where and I always wanted to try HHI. Thanks!!!!

You and your family will love this resort! Upon check-in you will receive the week's planned activites from which to choose. some examples include: marsh explorations, goofy bingo, crafts, dolphin excusions, pool and beach games, campfire, bbq. It is a family resort and you will meet many folks with younger kids. There are many others and they are not all offered at a time. The resort pool has a great slide and a kiddie pool near it. The beach house pool is smaller, but you can choose the beach or the pool to swim. There are umbrella tables and lounge chairs at both pools and you can rent chairs and umbrellas for the beach. You need to drive , bike or take the resort shuttle to the beach house(about 1.5 miles across the road). The take-out place at the beach house is surprisingly good for all ages. There is a lounge and small arcade there along with a TV and game area. The resort has playground and bike rentals. Some of our favorite restaurants (all kid freindly- our son is now 14 but we have been going there since he was 8):Scott's Fish Market, Kingfisher(walking distance at Shelter Cove); Old Oyster Factory; Hilton Head Diner(others i can't recall). When you check-in, they will give you a list of restaurants that offer discounts for DVC members also.
Have fun!

Connears, thanks for the heads up. I really appreciate the information!:bounce:

Connears, I thought of something else. We are checking in on Sunday. Are there any activities that get fully booked that I need to jump on as soon or even before I arrive. Thanks.

There are some that do fill up fast. Most of the time, you can only call to reserve at 9am that day so you don't need to worry that much. If there is a "Visit with Shadow", do this if your kids love dogs. Shadow is the resort mascot and you can see paw prints all over the resort and her doghouse is even at the main lodge. She is a beautiful golden lab(or retreiver, sorry) and the kids get to meet the dog at the community hall. She is so gentle and the kids love the fact that she really does exist. Its a resort game to find "Shadow". Cel painting is very popular as is the kids marsh exploration(this was my DS favorite and they get to wear big rubber boots!). If you have a fax, you could call the resort and ask them to send you this weeks list so you have some idea, I don't think they would send next weeks yet.
