HHI 2007 Beach Chair Swap - Updated 5/6

Hi,

I know we discussed it some earlier this spring, but seeing the thread about the VB Swap has motivated me. We will be arriving at HHI over Memorial Day Weekend, and we'll be purchasing some lounge chairs at Walmart. I'm willing to donate them to the swap, along with a bag of misc. beach toys. I can't add an umbrella, because we're bringing our LL Bean Sunbuster Shelter, and I want to use it later in the summer (although if enough people are interested in going in on one, we could split the cost and I'll order an extra for the kit). Due to feedback from those who have already responded, an umbrella/beach shelter will be included in the kit.

Count me in!! June 30-July 6. Are you going to keep a running tab of the owners that will be in on the switch. We have to coordinate who is getting it next so that the front desk can store the chairs in between guests if there are gaps. I will pm you my name if you need it. Thanks for starting this!

Due to the feedback that I have gotten from those who have already signed up for the swap, there WILL be an umbrella/sun shelter in the Beach Kit. I'll PM the details to those involved once I work them out.

I am purchasing everything for the first swap. I'm waiting for the swap to fill up some more before dividing the cost up. I will talk about the exact costs with those involved in the swap via PM. I can't imagine that the cost will be more than $10.00/family... which is a LOT cheaper than renting beach gear for a week, lol!

If we have enough interest, we may end up with a second swap set. In that case, the people who are in that swap will divide up the cost of the items in that swap.

As far as what will be in the kit for chairs...that will depend on what Walmart has available. My plan right now is to pick up 2 lounge chairs and 2 sand chairs.

I don't see anyone on the list for August yet, but if Aug fills up- I'd like to be added for Aug 26 to Aug 30th.
If you don't get anyone for the fill in weeks- I am afraid the items will be misplaced between July and late August.

I don't think that there will be a problem with August filling up. The swap is only a week old, and we've been adding one or two people each day.

I've updated the list on the front page, and I'll repost it here.

Here is a recap of what we have so far:

The Beach Kit will contain:

- 2 Lounge Chairs and 2 Sand Chairs
- Umbrella
- Sand and Beach Toys

I will be bringing some items with me when I arrive on 5/25, and purchasing the rest at HH.
