HHI 1BR/2BR-- Please Help!

Hi,

I just booked a 1BR villa for the inlaws and a 2BR villa for my family of four at HHI during the same week.

The inlaws want to stay in the same building as us. Ours is a dedicated 2BR, and I'm thinking that their 1BR would be part of a 1BR/Studio lock-off unit. (???) Does anyone know if these even exist in the same building, or are all dedicateds and lock-offs in separate buildings? I hope that this question makes sense.

If I remember correctly, the only lock-offs are in the main building. All the 1 BRs and studios there are lock-offs so that they can be made into 2 BRs if the need arises. In addition to the 16 there, there are 5 more each of 1 BRs and studios in other buildings. I'm not sure if those are lock-offs, although I THINK they are too.

Yes, they are lock offs. They are located underneath the Grand Villas.

The only way that you could manage to be in a 2 bedroom and a 1 bedroom in the same building would be if they had the 1 bedroom beneath the GV (1st floor elevated) and you would have a 2 bedroom on the other side of the building. You would be able to see each other from the balcony if you were on the same floor.

I just looked, and can't believe in all our years of going to Hilton Head that we don't have a picture of the exterior of the buildings. Guess we'll just have to go back next year.

HH has no dedicated Studios or 1BRs. As already noted, 16 are found in buildings 11/12 and the other 5 are found beneath one of the GVs - located in bldgs# 16,18,19, 28 and 30.

In those buildings, there is a lock-off 2BR (Studio/1BR) on the ground floor under the GV and a dedicated 2BR next to the 1BR - so it is possible to have a 2BR and a 1BR in the same building on the same floor. They would use different staircases to get to the front door, but you'd be able to see each other from the porch (if that's important).

The resort will try to accommodate the "nearby" request so be sure to ask, but nothing is too far away at HH as the resort is pretty compact.

Like cgcw, I can't believe I don't have a good exterior view of the porch-side of the buildings, but I sure can't find one. Here is one of the pool area that does show a general arrangement of the building.

Wow! Thanks for the great answers. So, I guess the only way we could be in the same building is if we both stayed on the bottom floor of one of the GV buildings. We were in Building 22 last time, and loved that location.

You're right about the buildings not being very far apart, maybe we'll just keep our requests for a top floor unit and split up. It's not like we spend all that much time in the villa anyway with all there is to do at HHI!!!
