HH travel time

We're going to HHDVC in August, I've read reports that it is difficult to get on and off the island. I am concerned about making it to the airport. We will be leaving the resort on a Friday morning in August, anyone out there have any knowledge of the traffic that time of year and how much time we should allow? Thanks for your help!

You didn't say which airport............we have never had a problem driving to Savannah airport. It is only about an hour away from HH.

I would leave HH 3 hrs before your scheduled flight time, and you should have no problem.

The only time we experienced traffic problems getting off HHI was last summer when we departed the Sat after the 4th of July. Most HHI rentals run Sat-Sat or Sun - Sun. So Sat & Sun is when you will experience the most traffic. You should be fine on a Friday morning.
