Hi all...looking for a little advice and know this is the place to get it:) My DH and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary this fall. We spent our Honeymoon offsite and our 10th at Poly concierge when we bought in to DVC. We have been to WDW at least once a year (usually more) since then. We've stayed everywhere except VWL and BLT. Our favorite location is our first home BWV where we are heading with the family in November.

With that being said, I thought it would be fun to do a mini trip over our 20th in early September and am toying with HH or VB. Even though I feel very knowledgeable about the onsite DVCs, I know NOTHING about HH and VB. What do you all think? Would you recommend one or the other? Interested to hear what you have to say:)

TIA, Amy

with the chance of the oil getting to VB (this is only a chance) would go with HH,

that say might go for VB anyway. at VB you are at the beach.

HH is an island - about a mile from the beach (might be 2 miles)

What kind of stuff is there to do at both? It's been years since I've been to Hilton Head (not thru DVC). Only remember the outlet shopping:rotfl2: I'm assuming that VB is your run of the mill beach resort?

I have never been to VB, but I LOVE HHI!!!!!!! In fact, my DH and I are celebrating our 20th anniversary there this July! To me, it is a very romantic resort. I love the hammocks around the resort where you can cuddle up together and watch the sunset. It's true the resort is not on the beach, but that's what I love about it. It is like two vacations in one; you get the atmosphere of the old oak trees with Spanish moss and the beach, too! The beach is about a mile away, but a very easy bike ride. There is also some fabulous dining on the island. My whole family went there last year and fell in love with it. In fact, we bought in as soon as we got home, and now my kids are jealous that they don't get to go on this trip. They can wait until next year though! Have fun making your decision and happy anniversary!

Wow, your post has kind of "sealed the deal" for me. We couldn't decide whether to go to HHI or WDW for our anniversary (29th) next year. You're right-HHI IS romantic!

Well if you are anything like me, after 20 years or more together, you need ALL the help you can get. :lmao:

Well.... Both resorts are great for romantic times. We like HHI mainly for the wildlife. We like VB because nothing beats hearing the crashing of the waves just outside your door. Plus a romantic walk on the beach in the moonlight is so easy with the beach right there. VB can't compete with the HHI shopping opportunities, but there are a lot of nature related activities available around the area. Check out the link DVCconvert offered.

Good Luck. :beach:

HHI!!!! There is so much you can do on HHI or do nothing at all and swing away in that hammock or on the beach. Besides the shopping there's the boating, kayaking, sailing, cruises, nature walks, horseback riding, golfing, tennis, bike riding, loads of restaurants to choose from and many within walking distance of Disney's resort. And of course the beach and pools at the resort are wonderful. Love the theme and feel of HHI's resort.
