HH in summer....availability?

I am now considering going to HH next summer. It will be 3 or 4 of us, depending on whether or not my DD#2 gets a summer job where she can't miss days (i.e. summer recreation program).
If we go in June we will celebrate our 25th anniversary. However, we may go later if the kids' schedules warrant with football practice, cheer camp, etc. No later than July, though.
I will not be able to book until December with my SSR points. Is summer availability an issue here?

Daisy...we exchanged last summer into HHI at the 7 month window and got 6 nights in mid July. I had to be flexiable with our check in day-we checked in on a Tuesday, but were able to make it work.

Summer availabilty can be limited, especially for studios & 1 bedrooms. Most of the rooms at HH are 2 bedrooms.

June July and August at 7 months is difficult, but if you are flexible its possible. We added on in 2002(and agin this year) to have the 11 month for summer. There are more 2 bedrooms so you have a better chance of getting these and, of course, the weekends nights are often more available because the points are so high. We have gone early-mid june for the last 3 years and July once and August once(the heat was unbelievable!!!). We are planning to return late June next year also. Good luck! Its an amazing resort with beactiful beaches, activites and HHi is great!!! We call it our relaxing vacation (as opposed to annual xmas week trip to wdw).

I was able to book a studio for 7 nights for the 3rd week of August this year by calling right at 9:00 on the dot of our 7 mo. window. We are starting our trip on a Saturday - I had heard that a lot of people try to start on Sundays to avoid spending the weekend points but we were planning for a full week anyway so that was fine for us. Maybe we were just lucky tho.

Thanks. If we do this we will probably do 5 nights in a 1BR or a studio (if we can get it) in June or earlier July. If we can't, we'll rent out the points and go somewhere else on the coast. Need a Disney break.

HHI can be a tough resort to get into during spring break and summer when booking under the 7 month rese widow, but well worth the try. HH has been one of our families favorite vacation destinations for many years. Good Luck!
