What is HH like in the winter months (Jan/Feb)? Nice and quiet? I have often wondered about a stay there during this time of year. :)

Thank you for any input.

It depends upon what you're looking for. We've been during December and also March. We've decided to wait and go in June from now on. During the winter HHI is dead. We were especially disappointed last March. It was too cold to do much on the beach (even at the Beach House). Plus all of the restaurants were empty. Now I'm not wild about crowds, but I do like to have some people around me when I eat out. But if you want peace and solitude and cold weather, the winter would be the time to go.

March is a very variable time, our usual month to go. One time it was in the 80s, sunny every day, great for riding bikes, playing miniature golf. As far as crowds, we commented that if it was this busy in March, we'd hate to see how crowded it was in the summer! Lots of people were swimming in the pool every day. Another year, it was cold (never higher than 50s) every day, rained almost non-stop, windy, just plain miserable weather. So who knows?

We have been there in late December (The week between Christmas and New Year's) and the weather has been in the 60's during the day and the50's at night. This was comfortable to ride bikes, take the dolphin trip, sit on the beach, and picnic. You could swim at the pools and sit in the hot tub, but it was too cold to swim in the ocean.

Thank You for this post. My DH family wanted to do a whole family trip the week between Christmas and New Year's. We booked at HHI. We are not really looking for "Fun in the Sun", but I am glad to know they men can play golf. :sunny:
