HH Availability at 7 Month Window?

Which would be the more difficult time to get reservations at HH for a 1 Bedroom at the 7 Month window -

A) Late April - Early May, but definitely after Easter Week, or
B) Columbus Day week in October?

I've got enough HH points to do one of them at the 11 month window, but would have to do the other at 7 months using points from other locations.

In each case I'm thinking a Sunday checkin to avoid the high cost of a Saturday night stay.

A 1-bdroom is VERY hard to get at 7 months unless it is a real off time. We had to get 2bdroom at 7 months for July last year and were lucky we were flexible for the date. April is very popular and Easter at 7 months may be hard. October should be fine at 7 months, I did it for a gift for my cousin's daughter for her honeymoon. We love HHi so much we bought add on points just to get the 11 month window for some points!

A couple of years ago DH and I had a studio the first week of May (before Mother's Day) that we reserved at 7 months without a problem. I would think as long as you were flexible and were not trying for Easter it would be possible. You could always try for the April/early May dates and see if you get them. If not, then try for October when you hit the 7 month window. Good Luck!!

I keep hearing this, so my experience must be really unusual. I called last week and was able to pick up a 1 bedroom at HH in prime time (ergo, August) with LESS than 7 months to go to the check in date!!!

We booked a two bedroom for late March just last month - no problem. I would think March would be similar to October.

My question was raised because I tried yesterday to get a 1 Bdr Sun - Thurs in early May and was told there were none available, except a few Fri or Sat nights, until mid-September.

I booked my October plans, since they are still beyond 7 months, and will try for next May by calling day by day at 7 months.

Count us as lucky too. We booked a 1BR at 7 months for our trip in June and did not reserve day by day. I was preparing to use points for a 2BR as I know that there are quite a few more of them than 1BRs.

This issue here is that there a lots more two bedrooms at HH than 1 bedroom units. While I really like the two bedroom units, I'd rather not pay the added points for something we don't need.

Just curious, are there even less studios than 1 bedrooms at HH? I imagine those are even more difficult to get at 7 months. Anyone with first hand experience with studio booking at HH at 7 month? Thanks!!

We booked at the 7 month window for the first week in October this past year. We had no problem getting a 1 BR. I don't know if the Columbus Day holiday will make it more difficult or not. Good Luck - we love HHI!

You could wait till March, then see if your October dates are still available and switch over to non-HH points. My guess is that the dates WILL still be available. Then you can "save" your HH points to book May at 11 months.
