HH....7 month window question

I'm looking at vacation options for 2006 and have been considering HHI. We own at BWV, so we'd have to book at the 7 month window for HH. Is it impossible to get a 1 BR unit at the 7 month point for Easter?

It depends on when you want to go. Some times of the year should be no problem. But remember that even if you want to go during a busy season, BWV points are very much in demand.

A few years ago, I traded my BWV points with a HHI owner so I could take my family to HHI at Easter time. He was able to get a standard 2BR during a busy time and I was able to get a 2BR at HHI during Easter week.

We've gotten 2 BR's at HH at the 7 month window with no problem- once during July and once last Easter. There are many more 2 BR's than 1 BR's tho, you may have a problem securing a 1 BR at 7 month mark.

I own at HHI and was unable to get a 1 BR for this April 17-22. I called a little after the 7 month window (in other words I did not call day by day). This week is vacation week for schools in MA. Have been on a waiting list for a 1 BR. Finally we called last week and cancelled the waiting list, kept the 2 BR and invited friends to join us.

There are a maximum of 21 1BR's at HH (i.e., there are 21 lockoffs that can be a 1BR + a studio). This makes it very, very hard to get either a 1BR or a studio at the 7 month mark. We got a studio at HH on a summer Sunday night one time. I called exactly at 9:00 am on the 11 month window and was able to get the last studio. There were no 1BR left, and I waitlisted and never got the 1BR. Hope you have better luck.

For Easter I'd do day by day but you should be OK. Summer will be increasingly hard to get for any size unit at the 7 month window. IMO, it will not be something to count on at all and one will be simply lucky if they can get in to HH between mid June and mid August at the 7 month window.

Wow...sounds tricky . I will definitely look at other options. It would be Easter...which falls in April in '06. Thanks again for all the advice, at least I know what to expect.

Back in 2002 I was booking day by day for a 1br at HH at the 7 month window. I had to waitlist 2 days. Luckily they came through but with such few 1br's and studios it will be difficult to get.

Today I was able to book two 2-bedrooms at HHI for June 5-9 (7-month window); I wanted a Grand Villa but none were available (I waitlisted for that); second choice was a 2-bedroom and a 1-bedroom, but they didn't have the 1-bedroom for all the nights I wanted. So I took the two 2-bedrooms, which will work just fine. But if anyone out there wants to cancel their Grand Villa for June 5-9, that would be OK with me!!

This morning I was able to book a 2 Bdrm for June 5-10, 2005 with no problem. It was my first experience booking at the 7 month window so I am pretty thrilled.

I wonder what the weather is like at Easter in South Carolina? If it's fairly decent, I think it would be a little harder to book because it is a holiday.

I am going May 21-28, 2005 and just booked that trip in the 7th month window. I got a 2-bedroom villa.

I had no problems booking TWO 2br's at HHI during April in 2004 and 2005. I'm not sure about a 1 br, I think they are in limited supply compared to the 2br's.

I just tried a few days ago for a 2 bedroom at HH for the week after Easter and it was totally booked. We own there but originally didn't think we wanted to go at that time since Easter is so early this year, but just getting away sounded good to us. We were hoping others would think it was too early too and it wouldn't be booked. No luck! We did waitlist, but I'm not counting on getting it.

I called and booked a 2-BR right at the 7-month mark for Easter week '05. I'm a member at BWV. There were no 1-BR available, nor Studios. Vero was also booked solid at that time.

Easter '05 is a weird year. Passover and Easter holidays do not coincide so public and parochial schools have different days off.

Put in an exchange request for Marriott's Grande Ocean or Barony if you want an entire week in a 2 BR.
