Heys bags

I had a problem with the Heys luggage for kids scratching and it was just in the back of my vehicle with another one and some Christmas presents.

I found for a carry on the canvas luggage you can get for kids works better. We used ours last year for my son's portable DVD player.

hi... i had a heys bag, thought it was great, and it ended up in the garbage somewhere near disneyland on our last trip...it started to rip and was fallling apart...first and only trip :confused3 ...my baggalini has been on 2 and a 1/2(it finished the last trip off after the heys went in the garbage)...i am bringing my ebags piazza on my next trip and looking very forward to it..hopefully it will work well, but will have my baggalini just in case :rotfl:

I'm in the GTA - I'm guessing you bought yours in a TO store.

Yes! In bought it in the Yonge/Bloor area. I was en route to the Yorkville store listed on their site and happened to find it in another shop on the way there.

Sounds like a lot of ppl are unhappy with the Heys bag.
I checked the Baggallini website and the only place that carries it in London is the University, and I can bet it would be overpriced there.
I guess I will be haunting the Winners stores.

I seen the Baggalinis at Globo Shoes here in Ottawa last week. They had several colours.

Nepean

I was hoping they had a store in the north end of the city - but nothing listed. What was the CND price? I'm going to Buffalo soon - so I was going to check there too.

Wow, really?? I will have to check that out as there's one of those not far from me! Thanks for the heads up! Btw, I grew up in Kanata, and my dh went to St. Paul's HS in Nepean.

I got my baggallini at the Urban Traveller (I think it's called) at Mapleview mall in Burlington! Has been worth every penny I paid too!

I bought my Baggalini on the BC Ferry from Van to Vic. I was shocked to see it in the gift shop, as I was just cruisin for magazines. I bought it on the spot without checking the price. When I realized it was $60, it was too late to turn back, as my excitement was huge. There isn't anywhere around here (AB) that carries them, so I guess sometimes you just have to pay to get what you want.

Dang, I bought a Travelmate... doubt I have the receipt anymore though. Could anyone let me know where theirs broke so I can look out for it? (zippers, strap etc...)

I had a Travelmate bag which had problems too. In the outside pocket on the back of the bag (the one on the outside of the bag that rests against your body), a seam came undone inside at the very bottom.... so anything that was put in the pocket would slip through to the inside of the bag. I sent the bag back to Heys and got a phone call from them... they could not find the problem no matter how many times I explained it. I wasn't too happy with them, but they sent a replacement bag to me anyways.

Soon after I got the new bag, the part that flaps over the top of the bag started come apart from where it attaches to the bag at the top... just a little bit.

I'm not too impressed with the durability of the Travelmate, but it is a very convenient bag if you can get one that stays together! (or if you're handy with a needle and thread!)

I just bought the Ameribag Coil Field bag from CAA, and I love it so far. I plan on using it on my upcoming WDW trip in Nov. It doesn't have the same kind of strap as the Travelmate or Baggalini does, or hang the same way, but I really like the design and the *many* pockets.

Which bag has the longest strap? I have a LLBean healty back one (looks like a teardrop) and I find the strap isn't long enough to go from one shoulder to the other hip. (Maybe there is just too much of me!)
Which of the Heys or bagallini has the longest straps?
anyone know?

Thanks

and I must say, I am at zellers every day, and have not seen the heys bags are they with the luggage?

Yes they are with the luggage. They were kind of hidden behind some larger bags hanging on the wall in the luggage section of my local Zellers

Anyone know what the CND pricing is on the Baggallini? I'm heading into Buffalo in a few weeks and I'm wondering if it will be cheaper there - but need to know the CND price first.:woohoo: :moped:

Thanks a bunch - I'll see if I can find it cheaper in Buffalo - I think I'm going to return the Hey's one based on the issues people have had with it.

I'll order a Baggallini online an have it shipped to my resort. On Bagbuy, with the 10$ coupon, it comes under 22$ shipped. For that price, I'm willing to risk and buy sight unseen. Hopefully I'll like it!

That's a great idea!

I purchased the Heys bag for my month long trip to Australia and New Zealand and have used it extensively! The style I bought was the Khaki coloured(it is really camel) nylon model from Zellers, not the leather model from TSC. I have found that the bag is certainly far from perfect for my needs. The shoulder patch slips on the webbing and the large unzippered pocket will spontaneously open when the velcro fails. The bag is not large enough to pack a jacket into although the zippered pockets all work well. I have 3 days left in my trip and broke down and bought a medium sized back pack ( Also a cool souvenir from Brisbane Australia) Much happier with the back pack! Heys  Backpack :thumbsup2
