hey guys i'm new here. i'm going to be down in disneyworld in june with my band and i was wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions on what to see and do. i've never been there before. also if anyone wants to hang out while i'm down there and show us around, that would be really cool. thanks a lot, everybody. :)

Depending on when you will be there I would sujjest checking out hte Star Wars weekends. They are fun and something that most can enjoy. Also check out some of the toprees they are very interesting. Just remember to have fun.

thanks guys. i forgot to include this in my original post, but we would also need a nice place to stay and good places to eat, if you know of any.

I would recomend staying on site in one of the All Star Resorts. They have their own dinning halls plus all the parks have great food. I would recomend going to the resteraunte foruom and checking it out.

If your going with a school band you will probely stay at a pop centry or wide world of music(that is what i think it is call). About every where is a good place to eat. I'm going to wdw with my school band in 10th grade, but this year we are going to cedar poit the count of we live about 2 hours away. hope you have fun.

i'm actually the singer for a recording rock band, this isn't a school band function. we're playing some dates in the central florida area in june and we just wanted to stop by disneyworld because we've never been. thank you though.

WELCOME TO THE DIS! have fun in disney!

I loved Pop Century so i would recommend that.....Good luck with your band!! ....

What parks are you going to????

hey well i'm actually not sure what parks to go to. we've never been to disneyworld before and we're not exactly sure what to see or where to go. so any suggestions would be very appreciated. thanks! :3dglasses

well...heres my opinion....

if you have time i would go to Magic Kingdom, Epcot and MGM (i don't really like Animal Kingdom but thats me)

Here are my must-do's:

Shows:

Fantasmic (MGM)
Spectromagic (Magic Kingdom)
Wishes (Magic Kingdom)
Share a Dream Come True Parade (Magic Kingdom)
Illuminations (Epcot)

Rides:

Space Mtn.
Splash Mtn.
Mission Space
Tower of Terror
Rock n Rollercoaster
Soarin' (i have never been on this before because it hasn't come out yet but it is coming out in May so you can try it :) )

I hope this helps and is what you were looking for!! :)

i agree with the rides on the post above, but i personally can't stand the parades. :sad2: i think they are too long and boring. maybe it's because i've been there too many times and seen every parade more than once (thanks to my mom...). june is a great time for the water parks. you can definitely have a lot of fun there. i like typhoon lagoon better than blizzard beach, the wave pool is wicked awesome. it's hard to tell you exactly what to do down there (restaurant wise, etc.), because i'm sure that we all have different likes and dislikes. since you are older you might want to go to pleasure island. i've never been there at night, because the last time i went i was under 21 and thought it would be lame to go and not be able to see everything, but i've heard the clubs are pretty fun. :)

ps. if you are who you say you are. your video for bowl of oranges is really creative and just plain super!

hey thanks a lot for your suggestions. i will assume that the water parks are a lot of fun being it's disneyworld and everything. and i share your distaste for parades. though we would probably want to see at least one. so do you have a preference? as far as food, we're all pretty open-minded, but just about all of us are vegetarian or vegan. however a lovely woman told me on one of the other boards that disney is very responsive to vegan/vegetarian dietary needs so that's a plus! i saw some menus on a website someone linked me too and the food options look incredible! i don't know exactly how we'll choose!

and thank you also for the gracious compliment. i'm almost positive that i am who i say i am, so it means a lot to the band and i to have kind words of support in the unlikeliest of places! i'll surely pass the word along.

thanks again for everything and take care. :)

hey it's always nice to make a fellow artist feel good about what they do. :) it totally makes you want to continue working. i know you're a pretty established band, but if you ever want to come play at a college up in ma, i know that my school is always looking for people...

anyway, as for the parades... any of the stuff on water done at night is pretty cool. like fantasmic and illuminations. spectromagic is also good. it depends on what park you are in that day. i haven't been in like 3 years or more, so i can't really say if they've improved upon anything.

i would imagine that most places are pretty veggie friendly, food wise. i really wouldn't know though, it's too hard to be a veggie at college the selection in the dining halls are crap.

I would have to say fantasmic at mgm. Well it not really a parade but a show. The tecs were awsome. Also stay for the wishes firework show that awsom too.
I really don't know what parade to go to because i think they are towards little kids.
If you want a good selection of food try a buffet, there's alot of buffets there. Most of them are character ones but they are at different time except for chef mickeys ::MickeyMo (my mom fav. because of the shrimp, right iggbees :teeth: ). My favorite was boma's at animal kingdom lodge:Pinkbounc . All do have good food.
Another thing is to definetly spend a night at downtown disney. Its so much fun to the different resturants to the stores to disney quest and virgin megastore. sorry but i don't know alot about pleasure island, im too young :guilty:. well have fun! :Pinkbounc
