Okay, I've been trying to remember who used to use the phrase "Hey you guys..." on a TV show years ago. I want to say Lou Costello of Abbott and Costello, but my wife doesn't think so.

Does anyone out there remember?

Thanks!

Who is "Rita Moreno on The Electric Company" for 1000, Alex?

If not her, than Ruth Buzzi.

What a great show!

I just got the DVD collection of The Electric Company. It's amazing how many of these corny songs I remember.

"Punctuation, Pah punk punk, Punctuation..."

I believe it was Lou Costello of Abbot and Costello fame who first used it. He was also famous for "Im such a baaaad boy"

I bought the School House Rock series for my DD and I could sing along with most if not all the songs....DD was shocked and amazed. Ya'll remember this

"Inter-planet Janet, she's a galaxy girl..."

or how 'bout this...

" so then we unpacked our adjectives..."

sick huh?!?!?

rita moreno tells an adorable story about how being on electric company made her so much more recognized than any of her stage or screen work-and how one time she was in the stall in a ladies room and a little girl of 3 or 4 peeked under the door and pointed at her saying 'hey you guuuys'.

And here my first thought was 'Sloth' from the Goonies at the end when he and Chunk save his friends.

:rotfl: :rotfl: Me too!! I guess we are kids from the 80's LOL

I am 41 and Abbot and Costello and The Electric Company pops up in my mind.

If I remember correctly the Electric Company was Rita Moreno shouting.....
"HEY YOU GUUUUUUYSSSSS!"

Abbot and Costello was...."hey you guys" said softly and quick.

So which one were you thinking of? I would say you are both right.:rotfl:

The Electric Company.....that show was on when I was 10, 11 or so. One of my earliest crushes was on June Angela, "Julie" of the Short Circus. :lovestruc

Lou Costello used to yell, "HEYYYYYYYY ABBBBBBBOTTTTTTT!!!"

Thanks!

I'm a little more confused now because I really don't remember The Electric Company (other than the one I retired from). That doesn't mean I didn't hear it during that time, though. I grew up with Abbott and Costello so I thought it was from that era, but who knows? The Goonies has been one of my favorite movies and now that someone mentioned it, I do remember Sloth saying that (I'll have to take out my copy and watch it).

So, Lou Costello, Rita Moreno, and Sloth... it could have been any one of them or all of them... my mind is such a complicated thing...

Thanks again for your help.
