Hey! there's upchuck on my foot!

This morning the dog threw up in my bedroom. I was downstairs and DH was in the bedroom. I am interested in how you would have handled it and whether there is a difference in the way women and men react to these kinds of "emergencies."

What would you do? (poll coming, if I can figure out how to do it)

I don't have a dog-- only a cat, but I've experienced my fair share of cat puke! If I'm home alone when I find it, I'll clean it.


But if DH is home.... it's all his!

LOL, I was just cleaning that up myself this morning! 9 times out of 10, I am the one to clean it up...DH does it very begrudgingly once in a blue moon Unfortunately, Brodie has horrible allergies and this is an ongoing symptom for him so it really doesn't phase me anymore to clean it up.

Well, this is my reaction. DH apparently has a different point of view.

If 14yodd is home she cleans it up.

If it is between dh and I well we try and hurry and get it up. So either one.

We had CATS for many years. If you have cats you know about puke. Dogs are a breeze.

This is what happens in our house too. If I ask DH why doesn't he do it, he'll say "well, it's your dog." Apparantly at times like that the pets belong solely to me.

In my house, he who finds it, cleans it. Except when I might find it and try ignore it so my DH is the "first" to find it.

My husband REFUSES to clean up after the animals. He will clean the cat box from time to time but he doesn't clean up vomit or god forbid one has an accident in the house. It's not that he's grossed out or anything, he says that I brought them home so it's my responsibility. He did bring 1 of the 4 home (a cat) so that's how I got him to start cleaning the litter box. He is nice enough to hold the dog's tail out of the way while I shave his rear

If I'm the only one home, I'll clean it up myself. If one of the teenagers are home, it becomes their pet their issue. They have gotten pretty good at using the mini carpet cleaner.
