I had a friend come over last night and tell me they want to go to Disney NEXT MONTH. She wanted me to try to find her the best deal possible! After a chuckle, I went to work. You see, I typically start over a year ahead of time, but I tried anyway.

Basically it came down to NWA at $227 and change (not bad) but the flight times were not great (7:08pm MSP departure) and the returns had some choices but there were no seats avaiable (she has a 3 year old and also a 7 year old who gets airsick VERY easy). So NWA was out.

Sun Country priced at $239 with ideal flight times.

Airtran priced at $227 and had better flight times than NWA, but the return was at 8:54am. Using ME, they would have to leave the resort at 5:54am...something the didn't want to do.

SO, I ended up booking them Airtran down there (10am departure) and Sun Country for their return (1pm departure). They paid a $228 per ticket and got the flight times they wanted.

Not the best price ever, but sometimes you have to be creative to get what you want....... I was drained after all of the quick searching I did!

Have a good one.

Good job duds! I haven't had the ;) opportunity ;) to do 2 one ways on different airlines to Disney, but it's always a good reminder that that option is available.

I did do that once travelling to Missouri. NWA was horrendously expensive and bad times to fly direct. Fly NWA to MDW and then SWA to St. Louis for HALF of what NWA wanted direct and the times were much better.

Kudos to you! I bet your friend was jumping for joy.

Good job! Never would have thought you could do 1 ways and come out OK on price.

Do you hire out? :teeth:

Best wishes -

My wife did that when flying this past September. Flew down to MCO on Airtran and back on Sun Country. The pricing for two one way tickets works out fine since both airlines only sell one way fares anyway.

Oh, very creative there. I may try that for our late Nov/early Dec trip.
