The army now has a whole procedure about whether someone will be coming to your door (KIA) or if you are going to get a phone call. I had to make sure the wives have all their paperwork filled out to be reached here and if they go home for the holidays or for the length of the deployment. The same for the single soldiers familes. I have to have all the info possible for their family member to be contacted. You check to make sure that the next of kin knows where all legal papers are and that they have a copy of mortgage or car loans and things like that. I also answer questions about how the notification will work and just stuff about the deployment. By then end of the class you feel like you have been through the ringer two or three times.
