Hey look another MagicBand question

Hi i have a question with the MagicBand. When it scans at the entrance or rides, dinner, etc. does your name pop up on any screen that the cast member sees? The reason i ask is because i'm a guy but I have a girls name (Ashley). I don't want to have to scan the MB and someone see the name and then i have to dig out my ID everytime. It's already a pain in the neck just using my credit card at stores and resturants beacuse of my name. If anyone knows please let me know how to prepare for this. Thanks!

Yes, your name comes up. It is always a good idea to have your ID with you, but I'm sure you won't have a problem.

In theory it should have the ability to see your name when scanned. I was never called by my name anywhere. I don't know if the CMs saw my name or not.

I don't think you need to worry.

Like others have said, it will say your name on the screen. Not only that but it will be big, bold letters. I've looked backwards while going through the FP entrance on a ride just to see what it shows.

However, if you log in to the website, you can set any nickname you want on each Magic Band, and this is the name that should show up when scanned.

No matter what nickname you put on the band, your real name shows on the screen. CMs called us by our names for an entire week, and none of us had our real names on our bands.

The screen the cast members can look at definitely shows the name of the person at each scanner. I've only seen a cast member study the screen in the case of the dreaded Blue Mickey, though, in order to tell the guest they were in the wrong place or to let them know what time their FP+ window started.

I seriously doubt you'll be questioned by anyone due to your name.

I must have missed that. I used MBs for park entrance twice every day and 3 FP+ per day, but I never noticed it (and no one ever called me by my name).

You shouldn't worry too much, since you need to scan in your finger when entering a park with your MB. But do bring your ID in case you have issues.
