Any one know where cabin 6560 will meet for the drill? My eldest niece is having problems with the whole idea (thanks to the younger niece's obsession with the movie Titanic). I think it would help a lot if we are inside in a club or restaurant. Any help, advice or warning would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, Lynn, you have totally killed us all! I NEVER knew about all those other verses! Have a blast at American baseball and we look forward to meeting you at Whitewater Snacks in the Grand Californian at Disneyland Resort at 5pm on Friday but if you can't make it then we'll see you on Saturday, 7/30 at Scoops at 10pm! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Seriously, I'm just trying to catch all the DISers who only check in periodically......

I just did the 10 day forecast on weather.com for all three Mexico ports and they're showing scattered thunderstorms :umbrella: EVERY DAY, but the highs are in the 80s :sunny: . I feel sorry for next week's cruisers....ummm, and let's hope the rainy weather is gone for us July 30th cruisers!!!!

Hi,
You meet on the decks on level4 or 5 outside. the line you up in odrer of height by family and stateroom. there is a map on your stateroom door telling you where to go and what stairs to use to get there. It only takes about 15-20 minutes.

We're out of here on Wed!!!
:jumping1:

I am off this morning with DH, mom, and kids for (betch can't believe this), two baseball games (Fri. and Sat.). I know when I return that I will have a lot of reading to do!! :rolleyes1

Thanks Lynn, David, Debi and families for including me in your Matz party!! :love1:

Lynn: I'm quite impressed! I also didn't know there were that many
verses - I'm a shameful American!!!!! Safe journey!
Must still hear from Leslie (been hearing scary stories about the weather in Arizona - hope you are ok; Dustin or Robin (RDS912); Lara or Byon
(byon_and_lara); and Debi or Micco (DisneyMom13)

Sorry to hear about your niece but it is a very scary thing, the
safety drill, only because there are SO MANY PEOPLE in one place.
It can be very hot and sometimes unorganized (not because of the
DCL, but the passengers not cooperating). Unfortunately we were only
inside one time, which was very nice, but the rest of our trips were on
deck. Try to make it a fun event (NO, I have NO ideas), talking about
the deck party afterwards or maybe look for some of the DISers (if
we are able to meet you in the terminal).

Coming down the home stretch!!! Whhoooppeee!!! :jumping1:

Thx Lynn for the send off list, it's always fun to know where everyone is in their travels. :cool1:

Macbaby: perhaps a trial run before the drill would help. Even ask a CM to help you with this. All they do is have everyone line up, they take role and then wait for the stragglers and it's over. ::yes::

Jenny: have fun at baseball! :lovestruc

Lisa: Did you see any tropical disturbances on their way....that's what I'm checking for. :sunny:

Everyone else....SEE YOU SOON! :rose:

We don't leave til Friday (29th) night to head for California. Vegas is a 4 hour drive and we come home to California regularly to visit family. We did the Disneyland/California Adventure potion of "our trip" a couple months ago.
My parents live about 10 minutes from the port.

I signed up the family (five of us minus the baby) for Randi's Happy Horses. There are alot of us going on that, huh?

I am also making arrangements for the Veranos Canopy thing. I signed up for my mom and the boys (15 and 12), now I'm deciding whether to take myself, DH and 7yr old dd, too. It sounds like so much fun. My dd has a dolphin swim at 3pm that day so I don't know if that might be too much. Need to talk to DH about what his interest is today.

We are also on the Chileno Bay Snorkel dodging the jellyfish. Anyone else here doing that?

I have a house FULL of family visiting from Californa right now through the weekend. So at the moment, I'm trying to figure out a breakfast and lunch plan for 15! I'm going to need all next week to recover and finally finish packing. So much to do. I'll be reallly ready for a vacation by next weekend!!

We are in the single digits now. A year of anticipation and we are almost there!! SOOO EXCITING!!!

I would talk with Guest Services immediately upon arrival and see if they can help you out in some way. I'm sure they'll have a solution-that's what they're there for, right! Perhaps one of you and she can hang back in the cabin? Good luck, that's a tough one. By the way, I assume you got your docs, I dont think I ever heard?!

Lara, Randi's should be lots of fun...there's a ton of us DISers going! Good luck with breakfast-I have some recipes to PM you with that I use when I bring food for my Mother's of Preschoolers (MOPS) meetings.

Oh, and I'm sure if you didn't see JoAnn's post about our DIS meeting, she'll repost it for you :rotfl2: !

Lynn - I think we are all impressed. Yes, and as an American I am not only ashamed to say that I don't know the other verses, I didn't know there were other verses!!!

Lucy - We are the Bolusi family so we are already accounted for (leaving on Thursday).

Patricia Yes, the lifeboat drills are out on the decks. Since I am a big scrapbooker, last time we cruised, I took pictures at the LB Drill, it kind of made everyone laugh and might do well to break up a little tension. Also, just remind your niece that we are sailing in warmer waters, no need to worry about hitting an iceberg. LOL. And then make sure she knows what fun we will all have at the Sail Away Party right after the drill!!! i am sure she will be fine.

Lara - We are also doing Randi's, it should be fun. Guess a lot of this group is going to smell like horse c**p that day. We are also doing Los Veranos, I am psyched for that. Hope you can join us.

Debi

Glad I didn't miss 'ya
PLEASE, did I miss anyone?

Lucy is NOT going to smell like a horse that day. Bob and I did a
Mexico cruise BC (before children) and he rode the horses.....those
people stank so bad...my girlfriend and I chose not to do the horses
and boy were we glad. SINCE I won't be doing the horses, does anyone
want me to reserve them a wash machine afterwards because you surely
are going to need it! (and I don't want to be near the laundry after
you get back!) :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

I say goodbye you say hello, goodbye, goodbye.
i'm sure there's a good song in there somewhere, it's 11pm here and I'm almost done packing, the cab arrives at 7am to take us to Heathrow. I hope I can talk to you all once I arrive but if not here's lots of hugs      and good wishes for your journey and a big thank you to everyone for making the planning and waiting for this trip sooo much fun. I can't wait to meet everyone...............................there's only one problem I can't remember where we said we'd meet, if someone could just let me know before I leave I'd hate to miss you all :confused3

We just returned from Disneyland, doing a little shopping and a little dining. I was really surprised at how small the crowds were for the four hours we were there! Smaller than when I was there during March! The park looks all fresh with new paint and most everyone smiling. The only problem was the humidity we are suffering under - it almost feels like Orlando!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions regarding the Lifeboat Drill. I will probably use a combination of them to get us through the drill.
