Hey! July 30th, 2005 cruise to Mexico DISfriends!

Jenny - See you live in a nice quiet place, where they don't smash pumpkins. Ours never seems to last past Halloween. It's sad!

Lucy - Yes, how is the show going? Let me know the dates, like I said, Alex and I may come out if it's the w/e that Micco goes hunting. You will let me come if I have a buddy to drive with, won't you?

Lynn - Alex went to that Haunted House with her friends on Tuesday night. They polled Staten Islanders on their biggest fears and then worked off that. It was a show that was set in a house with 13 room, each room was one of the fears. You walked through the house to all the different rooms. I don't think I could have gone, because one of my fears is being in closed in spaces (yes I am quite claustrophobic) and one of the rooms, the walls started to close in on you, I would have freaked out. Needless to say, Alex never made it to the final room (the top fear, which was drowning) as the number 2 fear was clowns. So the clown pegged her out as the most fearful in the room, then made everyone else get out, leaving her alone with him. He then basically tortured the poor kid (not physically, of course, they are not allowed to touch you), and she finally ran screaming from the room, much to the dismay of her friends, as well as the people who were waiting on line to go into the show. Must have been some sight! :scared1:

They are coming Saturday to the store to start refinishing the floors upstairs and the stairs, I am so happy that ugly carpet is getting ripped up, nice oak floors underneath, it should look nice when it is all done. It is a 3 day job, and I am sure it will be a mess. Plus, I have to teach a class on Saturday, so that should be interesting.

After a couple of 70 degree days here, today it is rainy and temps are dropping, we will be in the 40s by this w/e.

Marking period ends tomorrow for Briana, we are praying for good things!

Have a good day all!

Debi

Jess's FH article :grouphug: We need a full report card, tell Bri that her "aunts" are waiting to here!!! pirate: :moped:

Jenny, you don't need to see trick or treaters, you have your kids, mine are all grown!

BTW, I WOULDN'T BE CAUGHT DEAD IN THAT HAUNTED HOUSE IN SI!!:guilty:

We are off to Wallkill, NY this w/e for another college showcase soccer tournament! Jessica made our local paper w/ a color photo for scoring in the final playoff game, I'll try to send a link. FH is not her primary sport but SOMEHOW she managed to do pretty well despite her unsupportive coach! (Sorry, I'm still bitter.)

Where is Lucy, Kathy & Lynn??? :stir: :rolleyes1 :yay: :hourglass

JoAnn ~ I am with you on the SI Haunted House! I wouldn't go within blocks of that place!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

That was a great article on Jess' FH team. I took FH in college (part of my physical education curriculum) and I had nothing but bruised ankles the whole semester!! :sad2: That's some serious sport! We don't play that here in the midwest. It's definitely an East Coast thing....

Debi ~ I am so excited for you and your new store! I bet it's fabulous!! :Pinkbounc Good luck this weekend with all your work! Give Briana a big GL too! I hope she does well!! :thumbsup2

Kathy??????? She's NEVER this quiet!! I hope everything is o.k. in VA!

Talk to us Lucy!!!! :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Thx, Jenny!

Where are our fave DISers????????????????????? :thumbsup2 :teeth:  :cheer2: :grouphug:

ok Joann i do a really long post before I go off again with 24 kids and you don't find it....what's that about...
Here it is again just for you my friend and I suppose you didn't find the photo link either huh..
okay can't do a really long report as I'm washing and repacking for a 2 night stay with my year 4 children on the isle of wight.
But I couldn't let it go until the weekend without telling you something about our trip.
Overall we had a great experience
Dining highs were Coral Reef, Le Cellier, Tony's for table service and counter service Wolfgang Pucks express, Cosmic Rays, Tusker House and Flame Tree BBQ. We also ate at Prime Time Cafe, Liberty Tree Tavern, Whispering Canyon Cafe and Roaring Forks. All were ok but a big issue for us was the way we were rushed through the meal with entrees arriving before appetisers had been eaten and desserts having to be ordered at the start of the meal...yes we were on the meal plan but we hadn't expected to have food thrown at us...our biggest disappointment was dinner in the castle the lack of service and the way we were treated rubbed away a lot of the magic....however we were seated at a table in the window and watched the fireworks from our seats a totally different perspective and one we really enjoyed.
The Halloween Party was everything we had expected and then some the parade was tremendous, fireworks great, rides walk ons, lines for characters and candy not too bad and we did all we'd planned and more. Had loads of photopass pics taken so we'll share the link with you at some time even our pal Mickey enjoyed it he was dressed up as a pirate. Collected 3 full bags of candy one has gone to work with me for the staff not the kids! One went with keith and the last one we are using as trick or treat sweets for the few children that are catching on to your traditions in this country.
We also got tickets for the Halloween Hay Ride great fun!
We rode Everest 4 times, went on the new Nemo ride and tasted food from the booths in the Food and Wine festival. All the characters were keen to interact with us and Pal Mickey and we had some great moments...Keith had a magical moment all the alarm clocks went off in the jewellers on Main street He turned them all off and then all the staff started clapping him and saying he had turned off the magical moment alarm he got a certificate and a pin, also on the Rn R Coaster we rode once and at the end stopped for a quick picture before leaving the ride area when a cast member asked if we'd like to ride again and popped us back on through a back door when the CM saw us come in that way she said congratualaions and put us right at the front of the next ride.
We enjoyed lazing in the pool so much at the WL we never made it to a water park so that's still on our to do list.
Our flight home was very delayed so we spent around 7 hours in Newark airport I would have called Deb but your number was in my checked luggage!!!!
I'm sure there's more to tell but that's all for now folks.
Jenny sorry we couldn't catch up with you, next time we must meet up somehow...BTW even without his computer that son of yours is lethal at FF 154 points this week I got a good score 95 and was still slaughtered. I think you Americans are ganging up on me I'm not doing so well anymore but take a look at the overall points against and mine is the highest it seems whenever anyone plays me they have their best week.... oh well I've got Joann and Bill still to play maybe I can redeem myself!!!
Deb tell Alex I'll be with her in Spirit.....
We loved our day in NYC and seeing everyone, Thanks agasin for making our visit so special it was great seeing the city with other people and not just being on the tourist circuit..BTW i got Bunny pictures at WDW to go with my Squirrels!!
speak to you again soon
Lynn

Here's the PhotoPass Link

Exhausted right now busy week jetlag and trouble at school involving the police while I was away, but a good nights sleep should solve most of it
Speak to you soon
Lynn

Dear Lynn,

Thx for repeating your post! I had received everything but the pics, I love the pics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was like going without going!! It looked like you both had a wonderful time!!!

Get some rest!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a crazy week here! Halloween should be celebrated on the weekends, the kids were exhausted all week!!!!! :smooth:

Lynn ~ I finally got the time to sit down and look at your pictures! What great shots.....Pal Mickey sure made his way into your pix!!! :rotfl2: We have three of those and the kids love them!! We had to get them all one as they fought over one!!

JoAnn ~ I need some help inserting the clip in the signature...... very cute!

I am super worried about Kathy???? This is unlike her.......... :confused3

Debi is going to be bushed after this weekend...she's got a lot on her plate! :artist:

My weekend???? Ironing, laundry and cleaning...yes at HOME!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Rough week...mother had her surgery - been running to hospital, constantly; and then yesterday, I took advantage of a break and went to see Mamma Mia in NYC - OMG - I can't remember when I saw a more fun show. I felt guilty the whole time I was there, though, because Bob and Tyler LOVE NYC and Broadway and I was wishing they were there too. It was a "girl cousin" day in NYC and it was so nice. Hey Debs, my cousin picked a restaurant (I wanted Bubba Gump's, but we'll see that in January), and the restaurant was right next to that wonderful Italian restaurant. AND, everyone, I did NOT fall at all. Since we were on a tour, we did not have much time to ourselves, so we hit the Marriott bathroom twice, Starbucks twice, the show and lunch, and back on the bus by 6 PM and headed home.

My WONDERFUL DH took both boys to see their Grandma and he said she was in her "glory" seeing the boys, not missing me at all. She was moved from intensive care to a regular room yesterday. This past Wednesday she had a 6 hr. surgery on an anerysm in her stomach, and she is 86. It was a very stressful time, but it is over, thank GOD. It does take alot of wear and tear on an old lady like myself, since I am an only child, but I have a wonderful husband who helps out when he can, BUT, helping out at home is NOT an option right now, the musical is only 2 weeks away, and there is rehearsal every night, Bob is a perfectionist so he is not happy with anything, including sets, so he works on them too, in addition to everything else, and he 'trys' to fit in his real job too.

Lynn, I did get time to see your pictures (I DO have my priorities!), and does anyone know, WHERE IS KATHY?!

Sorry, no time for smilies right now, and, by the way, where is Bill?

Lucy - Glad to hear your mom came through surgery alright, at her age, that is a blessing!

JoAnn - Always great to hear about Jess, we had field hockey out in LI where I grew up, it was big out there (also lacrosse for the boys), but not here on Staten Island, I don't think any of the schools play it.

Been busy today playing taxi back and forth, Briana to open house at her HS, Alex to work out in Jersey. She got sick at work yesterday, so I had to go get her and leave her car there, and drive her back today. But she is ok, thank God! Had to got to the shop at 7:45 this morning to let the guys in to do the second coat on the floors, but it looks great. I am exhausted. I don't know what to do on Sundays like these when the Jets have a bye and I don't have enough time in between car shifts to get anything donw, I just want to take a nap! But I do have a massage appointment at 5 today, I am looking forward to it!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend all!
Debi

I need that 'medicine' Jenny likes...
my mom was...how would I say it...crazy today. Something is going wrong....she was seeing strange things, telling me strange stories, acting terrible, pulling out all her tubes.....my mother is normally a very quiet, shy, never talks kind of gal....it was awful today. they now have her restrained, and on a bed alarm. I'm hoping, and they are thinking, it may be a medicine she got last night for hearburn....MY FRIENDS, never take Pepcin, that is what they gave her. Another friend of mine just told me the same thing happened to an older man she knows, who had surgery, and they gave him this medicine. OH, I'm hoping and praying, because I could not handle it today. I stayed for 2 hours, then they had someone come sit with her, and I left....I am so sick on my stomach right now...hmmmmm, do we have any Pepcin in this house (or Jenny's medicine)?????

do some strange things to you. Maybe it's an interaction and they will get it all straightened out soon. I am so glad she came thorough all of this. Hopefully she will be out soon evaluating the Phillies off season moves!!! :happytv: I am praying for her quick recovery. :grouphug:

I found the bottom of my ironing basket today! First time since the beginning of the summer!!

Hey Lucy!! You know Cars come out on video Tuesday???? Wasn't that one of your favorites???

Debi ~ Guess you weren't bored this weekend!! ;) Hope your shop is in great shape!

JoAnn ~ Where's DisDaddy been??? He usually "breaks out" on game days to torment people!!! :cheer2:

OMG!! I can't believe I forgot!! THANK YOU SO MUCH for my NYC postcard!! What a super fun surprise!!! It was so sweet of you guys to send me that! I really missed being with all of you, but getting to talk to you was cool, like a virtual NYC tour!!! :woohoo:

Hope everyone has a super week!

Hey all....I hope MOM is okay, luce!!!!!!!!!!!! :grouphug:

Thx to Debster, about the FH, we were in Wallkill, NY this w/e to see Jess play some soccer for a college showcase, she "developed" and "scored" but I'm exhausted...........I love my kids but............. :thumbsup2

Hey, Jenski, we love you and are looking forward to seeing you soon!!! :cheer2:

You, too, Kathski................ :grouphug:

So, I hope all are wonderful this first w/e in Nov......we are flying Tara home this w/e to surprise Jess with her Fall Dance at our high school.......... :cloud9:

Hope all are well........... :cool1:

Lucy - I hope everything works out with your mom, I know this is a very stressful time for you, but just give a shout out if you need us!

Jenny - Ironing, what's that? :confused3 :confused3

JoAnn - That is great that Tara will be coming home for the w/e, sure you guys miss her, we know how that is.

OK, I think Disdaddy is hiding now because I beat his butt in FF. TO, who's that? I see your QB had a great day, but just remember, he was throwing to MY WR, who had an even BETTER day! Sorry, Disdaddy I told you to be afraid, the Disney Darlin's are making their run for the playoffs. The only team that can stop us now is those darn B-Town Bombers, now them I am afraid of. :scared1:

OK, now really, where is Kathy? I am starting to get worried. If she keeps this up, I will have more posts than her soon. :rotfl2:

I am starting to catch a cold, I feel run down, stuffed up, throat is sore, and I need to sleep...oh yeah, what's that? I wish I could just take a day off and sleep all day.....

Anyway, have a good one!
Debi

Well, I wasn't surprised at the results this week, :confused3 I had hoped that My kicker would have kept the score closer... :guilty: Also felt T>O> would have helped more ..(he dropped a TD pass)...well, I'm hoping to get some easier teams... you know, like Lynn...etc... It appears to me the "bubble" has broke on her season
.....!! I got to run....

O.k.....Kathy's really got me worried now!! :sad2: Do you suppose what happened in Las Vegas, stayed in Las Vegas????? :confused3

Lucy I hope your mom shows progress daily and is up and around soon. I know it must be tough being the only child...all the pressue on you. Keep your chin up!

Debi So, how's the store coming along?? :listen: Ironing is what us midwest folks do for our DH who have these pencil pushing jobs! I'd rather have one of those work clothes/wash and wear guys!!!! :lmao:

Joanski ~ How are/did the UN conferences going/go?? :rotfl2: I really like conferences. I love the ones that the kids has some tick just like mom or dad. It's sometimes spooky! How cool is it that Tara is coming home to surprise Jess??? So neat!

Lynn So, back to work? It sounds like you and Keith had a blast!

DisDaddy YOu sure have been quiet with FF lately.... :confused3 YOu gave up on taunting like T.O.????? :rotfl2: :lmao:

Depending on the bowl bids for college football, my Hoosiers could possibly be placed in the Champs Bowl in where else????? ORLANDO! I am going if possible to a bowl game if they go. The other options are Tempe & Detroit. I want a WARM bowl, however at least the Motor City Bowl in Detroit is indoor. It's where the Super Bowl was last year. They still have to win one game and it isn't going to be this week against Michigan!!

Isn't if funny that John's B-town Bombers are still winning despite his not having ANY computer access?? He's off line until Dec. 1st... :sad2: He did make the 7th grade BB team (barely!!!). He and Mallory are both playing BB and Marshall is now taking piano. I have threatened to put a stove in the car... :rolleyes1

Just pack sandwiches, Jenny!! GL to the BB players!!!!! :thumbsup2

My conferences are the week of 11/20......

I have no idea how I did this week in FF........ :confused3 :guilty:

Yes, Tara is returning this week for a brief visit!!! Jess still doesn't know! :goodvibes Tracy will also come home which is great!!! :cloud9:

Hope are well in the missing families!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We love you!!!! :grouphug:

It's hard to believe that this thread has been quiet for 2 days, where is everyone???? Briana gets report cards on Monday, P/T conferences are Tuesday, I am keeping my fingers crossed, she thinks she passed everything. Math teacher told her he didn't fail anyone, and that was the one subject she was worried about. We will see.

We had a horrible day of rain here yesterday, flooding all over. Today it is beautiful, about 70 degrees, maybe even warmer.

Hey Jenny I play you this w/e, looks like we are even, should be a good game!

Miss you all!
Debi

Tyler's report card came home today.....he will live, for now. Next quarter, if the same grades appear (NO, thank goodness, they are NOT flunking grades...but math WAS getting close) again he may NOT live...because then the musical will be over and he DOES have more time for schoolwork. The kid honestly has NO spare moment right now, as do none of the kids in the show. :crazy2: :crazy2: :crazy2:
Tomorrow night is our first real performance, for parents...it isn't a perfect show, but it will only be the parents of the kids in the show. :dance3:

My mum (as Lynn would say) has moved to a rehab hospital today, a little further away from our house....maybe 30 minutes, on a good day (today was NOT a good day on the road, took one hour!). As Debi said, yesterday was miserable. I went to the hospital last night, and when I drove home, the roads were very slippery with wet leaves, my little car did NOT like the roads last night. :drive:

OK, how much must we BEG Kathy S. to speak to us?! :charac2: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

6:45PM and I am SO ready for sleep, another busy day tomorrow. :furious:

Hey Lucy, tough times.........best wishes.......... :grouphug: GL with your show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

GL to Bri...........WE REALLY HOPE YOU'VE DONE WELL!!!!!!!!!!! Hi Alex!

We miss you Kathy............ :confused3

Where is Jenny???? (Oh yea, driving kids to BB............... popcorn:: )

WE had a bomb scare at our high schools this week, so Jess hasn't been to school for a few days.............she's supposed to return tomorrow.........the whole thing has been really weird.............we even had additional security at our school.................. :smooth:

The good news is that TARA IS COMING HOME TONIGHT for the w/e to help Jess get ready for her dance (and see her BF, of course) Tracy is also coming home (instead of visiting PS...how great is that!)

Jenny, we have report cards next week, so that's been our crunchtime this week.

Hey Lynn, have you forgiven us yet for our immature accent jokes??? :wave2:

Poor Lynn....I can't remember who told me the story, but "candy corn" will never be the same for me! I can't get through the "traffic cones"!! :lmao:

The kids and I have been working on the massive leaves! Remember....an acre of land=one hell of a lot of leaves. We just mow them over and mulch them up, but still they get deep in spots, so we have to "think them out"!!

Mark and I are going Sat. to see Indiana/Michigan football game. My poor Hoosiers don't stand a chance against yes, the #2 ranked team in the nation! We will then drive to Cincy to see the poor Bengals play......

All your kids are getting their report cards and I am preparing second nine week midterms!!!! :rolleyes1

Lucy ~ It sounds like Mum is doing well. I hope the rehab goes well too.

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 Kathy?? :confused3 :confused3
