Mark got us ressies at the Riverfront Club in Cincinnati where the Reds play for brunch Sunday. Knowing how we are, they sat us at a table that overlooked the field AND had a TV right there for us. So, we could watch the Reds live and the Bengals on TV. Well, it gets down to the end of the FB game which was getting tight and the Reds are in the bottom of the ninth, tied, two outs and bases loaded!!!! We were moving back and forth from the rail to see the baseball game to the TV... It was comical! About the time the Bengals intercepted the ball to secure the win on TV, Royce Clayton hit a single to win the game for the Reds. THe place was going nuts, servers, customers and all!! They might have to replace the carpet where we were because we wore a path between the rail and TV!

Ok I'm glad you had a win Bill cos I lost to ted big time....I've gone right off this football business.....Competitive and a really bad loser a. Are you sure you want to see me in 3 weeks?

how unfair to your brother-in-law and the family - what happened????? :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

How is Ken doing, being in Florida - is he driving home himself? He must be
terribly worried too. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I don't have anything else to say until we have good news about your family, JoAnn. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

JoAnn ~ Please let us know ASAP!! We are thinking about you, Ken and all of your family. Love, :grouphug: and pixiedust: to everyone in your family!!!

Thanks so much everyone, I have had such a rough day. I have had a headache trying not to cry, worrying about Ken's brother (his name is Harry/Bud.) His family has requested that we not visit or call so I found out through another family member that he is doing well. The operation was today and he is doing okay emotionally as well. Fortunately, Ken is distracted by moving Tara and getting her settled in. He has lost over 25 lbs. since April, he is really feeling bad for his brother. Now all he does is jog (as you already know!) Ken's parents are also strongly affected by all this b/c his father discovered he had cancer about a month after Bud did. I'm trying not to be intrusive so I just sent some flowers and goodies over the next few days to the family. Ken will visit when he returns. (He's flying home, Luce.)

Thank God for children. After a few hours of teaching today, I felt so much better. Kids are a wonderful distraction!! :grouphug:

You guys are so sweet, thx for your good wishes. Hopefully, all our prayers will be answered, his next operation (for his lungs) will be sometime in October. Let's all just be grateful for our blessings and health today. Hug your family and thank God! and..............Carpe Diem!!!! :woohoo:

JoAnn, Ken's brother is in our prayers.

Where's Lucy today?

Jenny, I'm bummed that we're coming and going on the same day. I wish we could have crossed paths at least for a little while.

I had my thyroid scan on Friday. It looked great as did the subsequent bloodwork so I'm free and clear thankfully.

It was a busy weekend in Coronado. I got in on Friday evening around 8pm and it was go, go, go right up until I flew out at 10:45pm Sunday night. I was up at 4am each morning. I decided not to even bother to try to adjust to the time change as it was such a brief trip. The memorial service was a beautiful tribute to a wonderful woman.

My friend is a teacher. She has a 2nd grade class this year. She's been out of school for nearly a month now. She returns to the classroom next Monday. She went in to visit the students a few days ago. They all made her the most incredible cards. Reading some of them brought tears to my eyes. It's been really hard on my friend. Her mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 12 years ago. She spent the last several years trapped by this awful disease. Many people while offering their condolences have said things along the lines of what a blessing it is that she is now at peace. While this may be true it is very difficult for my friend to hear this. Her young students were for the most part more sensitive and insightful in their expressions of sympathy than many of her extended family and friends.

Sunday was really fun and relaxing. I spent the better part of the afternoon on the Sun Deck at the Hotel Del Coronado drinking Margaritas with a few friends. I managed to get to the sushi bar at Peohe's on both Saturday and Sunday night.

I got very little sleep on the red eye flight and arrived home at 9am Monday. I ran errands all morning and picked up carpool at 11:45am. It's been non stop around here ever since. Ted is having an extremely busy week. He got called in twice on 2 separate emergencies during the night last Friday. He had to call one of our neighbors at 1am to come and stay with the kids while he went into the hospital. He hasn't been home before 7pm all week.

Yesterday afternoon I got a call from my good friend and neighbor (the one Ted woke up on Friday night). She was hysterical. She got a call from paramedics working on her husband at the grocery store. They feared he was having a heart attack. I rushed over to get her kids and she took off for the hospital. It turned out not to be a heart attack. Thank God. He is only 44 years old and his father died of a massive heart attack at age 48 so he was really scared. It turns out it may be reflux. Ted wants to scope him. Evidently there are a lot of GI problems that can feel like a heart attack.

The house will officially be on the market this weekend. I hope it sells. We'll be very busy right up until we take off for Disney World next Saturday. I have a Girls' Night Out tomorrow night, a school picnic, swim team practice and Disney's "Princesses On Ice" on Saturday as well as dinner out with two other couples that evening. On Sunday we have tickets to the Virginia Ballet's performance of "Cinderella". Ted is working all weekend. Like I said before, it'll be Christmas before we know it.

...did you miss me?

Well, I am back, and in the new place. Still have some work to do, but it is stuff that can now be done while I am here. Everyone who has been here absolutely loves the new place, the best part, plenty of parking! I can't wait for you guys to see it!

Joann - Just want you to know that we are still praying for Ken's brother :grouphug:
BTW, I think I kicked your butt in FF last w/e. So much for your manager. LOL

Lynn - I found a CM consultant, so if you want to PM me your order, I will take care of that for you.

Miss you all!
Debi

Joann I hope everything went well for Ken's brother
Kathy I'm going to see Disney Princesses on Ice here the weekend after you we're taking our great nieces. I think it's cool we get to do the same things when we live so far apart. Have you heard about the new shows in the Magic kingdom there's one with Aurora and prince Phillip , one is a high school musical theme, one is woody and co and the last a new castle show with Mickey. There's also a new parade which happens 3 times a day which guests are asked to join in...can't wait until our trip.
debi you're a star I'll get the numbers and proper names from the web site and Pm my order, I can't wait for my shopping session in your new store :thumbsup2

Hi all! Our usual busy weekend. Mallory has basketball tryouts this morning, Indiana vs. Wisconsin football at noon (the whole family will be there!), and off to Cincinnati for Bengals and the Patriots tomorrow!

A little "in house competition" with the Hoosier Hilljacks facing the B-town Bombers (our basement resident!) this weekend. With the Bombers having the slight edge it could get "ugly"!!!! :lmao:

Debi ~ It was nice to hear from you. I am so glad you are moved and happy with your location, location, location!! :rotfl2: Here's to a successful business! :drinking1

Kathy ~ Glad that all the tests turned out well. I cannot believe we are going to be "that close, yet so far" in a couple of weeks. Hope you guys have a "magical time". Our whirlwind WDW trip will be just that!!! :sad2:

Lucy ~ You are awful quiet...........that's not a positive sign. :confused3 Give us a little of your humor, please!!!

JoAnn ~ Hope all is well with Ken's brother. Is Ken back from SB? How is our new "beach bunny" getting along? What are you down to now, one??? :sad2:

Lynn ~ It won't be long for you and Keith to jump across the pond!! :dance3: How is school going? Did you hear from our friend Mark yet? I sent your e-mail address to him.

Happy weekend!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
