Hey! July 30,2005 Cruise to Mexico Reunion Thread

I'm sorry, I'm not getting the "broom" comments.

When a team gets beat at everything (or a series) it's called a "sweep". The broom is used at sporting events to symbolize a "sweep". Hence, I will be hanging the broom on my porch to symbolized that I have been swept, or I am a witch..............take your pick!!!:rolleyes1 :lmao:

You seriously have not heard of a hilljack? :confused3 A hilljack is someone who lives in the hills and lacks social etiquette....we live in the hills (yes there are some in the sounther third of Indiana!) and yes, I lack social etiquette...just ask my kids!:rolleyes1

I knew many of the actors in the movie "Hoosiers"! THey used a lot of locals. The writer is from our town and his father is the local coroner. The names of the boys are real names of his frat brothers at IU. In fact, I teach with Rade Butcher's wife (it's really Jade, not Rade though!).

If you guys haven't ever watched it, it's good. You don't have to like sports. And truthfully, it is much like Indiana in the 50s and some places still today. The team it depicts was a real team, but the name has been changed. One of the opponents on the movie was my alma mater!:cheer2:

I should have known better than mention HOOSIER....:thumbsup2 the movie....:confused3 of course you knew all the actor.s,etc....I should have known....!!!:worship: I always knew the "country" folks as Hillbillies....:scared1: and we always refered to their beverage as "Jack"....:scared1: or "shine".....:woohoo: great sh-- ,it could make you blind....!!
ok stay with us Lucy....
And don't hand me that "Mountain folk " stuff...!! All the people with "smarts" come from the middle of the country..:thumbsup2 they have more time to figure it all out....:rolleyes1
OK, I'll file that one away.....Hilljack....

Happy
Thanksgiving....!!

:thumbsup2 :goodvibes
Do you think those people are ready for Bill and his thong??:rotfl: :scared1:

I think tonight was the big "cast party" and then Bob, Lucy and Tyler will be back "with us"!!!:rolleyes1 :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

It might be entertaining................WELCOME BACK LU!

yep, she is back FOREVER, until NEXT November.......

Thank you SO MUCH for being our dear friends and understanding why we haven't been in touch:grouphug: .....I have NEVER been SO TIRED during any of the shows, as this one. Alot has to do with co-chairing the cast party, for over 110 people. In addition to selling tickets (which I WASN'T supposed to do this year), I did anything to help Bob out. I only wish I could sew, a very depressing story there, our costumer failed us this year, didn't have the costumes completed till the first night of the show (should have been complete 3 weeks before)....there was SO MUCH STRESS with this situation, sleepless nights. I actually had to go to the doctor AGAIN due to stress, broke out in a rash all over my face and hands. THEN, the weekend of the show, I got sick with a cold, both directors, Bob and the music director, had colds the week before. I was SO DEPRESSED the first night of the show - everyone went out partying and I had to go home with Nyquil!

I've been working every single day. The week of the show, our most tiring week, I had to be at work by 7 AM and worked till 3:30. BOY, was I run down.

The cast party was 'western themed' (my idea of course) - we had chili, hot dogs, nachos, corn bread, etc. The kids LOVED it. BUT, and Jenny can attest to this, I was so cranky by the time the party took place because I was over-tired. The cast party was Sunday night 6-9:30.

My poor mom suffered, didn't get many visits from her daughter.....I believe I saw her every day BUT for only 2 minutes.

Tyler was terrific in the show...he had a very good show this year. In fact, all the kids had a great show.

I haven't read any of the threads in weeks, I need to get caught up.

We had a nice Thanksgiving at my cousin's house. I made sweet potatoes, pecan pie, coconut custard, chocolate cake with peanut butter, and pumpkin roll. I was a little sad, my mom wouldn't come out of the home for dinner. SO, the whole family, and that includes BOTH boys, went to visit her tonight.

I will NEVER talk about ME this much again:scared1: ......NOW, how was everyone's Thanksgiving? :flower3:

SO, have the Lawall girls shopped till they dropped?:scared1:
I think of those girls and how much they LOVE to shop.:cool1:

The weather is really awful today, rainy, cold. :cold: Did wake up to a very little snow, looked pretty at the time, until it started raining. Bob is working, AGAIN. He'll be home at 4:00 - I'll make dinner tonight. He started decorating, he does such a beautiful job, none of us want to touch anything. Oh, yea, I did get out the cookie cutters. Speaking of cookie cutters, that is ALL I want to do, bake, but we don't want to eat them so I'm trying to control myself till closer to Christmas.:sad1:

Who goes back to school tomorrow? :confused3 Tyler and I have the day off (officially the beginning of hunting season around here, school is always closed).Only thing Tyler and I are going to hunt is a trip to the orthodontist...

It's wrapping day for us............yes, we have school tomorrow.....no hunting around here..........:confused3

I had NEVER heard of taking the day off for hunting! Yesterday some friends of ours in Newark, OH were talking about how their granddaughter is off tomorrow since it is the first day of deer hunting!:rotfl2: I live in the sticks, folks and we don't take the day off to hunt! That just cracks me up!:lmao:

Tomorrow is John's 15th birthday..........I cannot believe he is THAT old!:lovestruc
