Our pleasure hopefully the others will arrive too, our rellys here have started to get them as well and the 3 we sent ourselves have arrived. I think everyone on the PC thread is a little disappointed because there is any franking on the stamps I think we all feel we could have just put the stamps on and brought them home but I guess that's the wonders of modern technology and the barcoding, ok another day
Puerto Vallarta Wednesday 20th August
The meet time for our shore excursion was 11:45am . We were doing the outdoor adventure which was zip lining and bridges and mule rides etc. I had really been looking forward to this, but we both woke up very tired and after the heat yesterday I was concerned that we would overdo it. We had breakfast in Parrot Cay and then went to see the folk at the shore excursion desk to see if there was anything they could do. I was amazed they were happy to refund our excursion and swop for another, So we relaxed on board for the rest of the morniong and then went to the promenade lounge at 12:15pm
We were taken onto the quay where a Rigid Inflatable Boat was waiting for us. This proved to be a really good excursion and I'm glad we swopped as the temperatures were very hot. First we sped away out of the harbour a fast fun ride, Next the boat came very close to the shore near the old town and the guide gave us some background and talked about the landmarks we could see on shore. Then another fast ride through the bay until we came to Los Arcos. Here we slowed down and went right up to these arches and rock formations we saw lots of birds including a blue footed ****ie. Next we went to another bay to snorkel we were the only people there, the water was very murky but there were alot of fish. Then we stopped at the little village of Yelpa, we walked up through the town and the guide told us a little about the flora and fauna of the jugle . we then swam in a waterfall at the top of the hill, we had a little time for shopping at some stalls, before heading to Pizota beach for Lunch, this was BBQ style there were picnic tables for us and hammocks and beach mats. the guides made us coconut drinks from the green coconuts, there were also showers so you could swaim , snorkel and kayak, we had lunch. Then just relaxed on the sand. We had noticed in Yelpa that when we looked back at the town it was covered in a big rain cloud but on our side of the bay it had stayed clear and sunny until we were getting back into the boat to come home. This was a wild ride bumpy on the waves and the rain whipped our skin the guides gave us towels to hold over our faces so it didn't sting, and while we were eating they must have placed our bags indside big plastic bags. There wasn't anything the guides could do so we bounced back to the magic through hail, thunder and lightning it was a little scarey but actually in a weird way a lot of fun. The whole group cheered when we got back to the harbour and evryone was smiling and laughing thank goodness we were with a group of fun people or our spirits might have been dampened!!! We looked like drowned rats as we went on board. People just stared at us, oh I almost forgot the other cruise ship in had people on the balconies and they cheered for us as we pulled into the harbour. It was a very good day. We rushed on board and had showers etc. It was too late to see the show I was abit disappointed as they had a real mariachi band come on board. We had our pictures taken with the three caballeros and then went to dinner, I'm afraid we were very rue then and asked if we could order our food eat our appertisers and then run and see the late show( dinner was at 8pm the show was at 8:30pm) We had never had our main meal much before 9pm so we figured it wasn't too rude. Debi's girls weren't interested in the showbut they said to go ahead, so that's what we did we didn't see the very last song as we felt we neede dto get back we arrived back just as they served the main course. The show was excellent and I was pleased we saw it. The cabaret show was Ron Lucas a very funny ventriloquistand then Keith and I headed to the Promenade lounge for a nightcap we met a couple at the bar from PA and we had drinks with them most evenings after that. Debi and co stayed in RBD and danced but we weren't big fans of the band so didn't stay later than the show most nights.
The next day was an at sea day, we spent the morning, or what was left of it after a late breakfast ,at the pool . then at 1pm Keith went with Micco to the Pananma canal talk and at 2pm Debi and I went to the scrapbook swop. This was fun everyone had prepared a page which they duplicated 20 times then we all gave our page ideas and bits to everyone else so we still all had 20 pages but each one was different, Does that make sense!!! I still need to start on the scrapbook but I do feel I have a head start. At 4:45pm it was the castaway clubhouse, this was held at the goofy pool as it involved most of the ship. Then we went and saw the ventriloquist again in the WDTbefore heading up to deck 10 to watch PoC curse of the black pearl with other DISers, we all had scripts and it was interactive like rocky horror type of thing, it was great fun for 30 mins and then the storm came, rain lashed down the wind blew the loungers across the deck which werte fooded with waterthere was lightning and thunder very atmosheric, some diehads stayed until the end watching from cover but we beat a retreat to the coive cafe and enjoyed a coffee with some other couples .
Hope this is good enough fix for you I have to go and do some housework now!!!
