***Hey, Hey! Come right in and plan, OFFICIAL OCTOBER 2017 thread!!!***

I am toying with staying at a different resort. We have a reservation at VGF at this point. I am going to have to purchase some one use points for the last night our our stay, as I am 14 short. :sad2: If I change our reservation (which our 7 month mark is 3/8), we can potentially stay at another resort, for less points. We typically end up at Kindani (which we love, wish we had bought at AKL), but I would like to try another resort. The only other resorts that have full availability during our trip are SSR (it was okay when we stayed there for a 1/2 marathon) and OKW, which I am not overly thrilled about.

Anyone have an opinion? I am open to suggestions.

Hello! We are renting DVC points at the Poly 10/17-10/27. We are first time renters, and it's also our first stay at the Poly. It'll be myself, my husband, and dd 4 (almost 5), ds 2 (almost 3), and dd 9 months.

We are excited to do our first Halloween party. And I'm also really excited to do the BBB with my daughter. Can't wait to do some more planning!

You are going to love the Poly!

We rented points and stayed at OKW last November, it was great. Nice laid back feel to it and our studio was huge! We stayed at POFQ for 2 nights before moving to OKW. The only compliant I had about OKW was the bathroom needed to be gutted and redone, POFQ's bathroom was better, smaller, but better. We will go back and stay for sure.
Though, I do love a nice Savannah view room!

We are booked at WL for 10/5-10/10. Little concerned about the construction at WL though I've heard it'll mostly be done by then. This will be our first October trip, looking forward to F&W and MNSSHP, though realizing now I have no idea how to plan with those events thrown in!

You need to try the new Geyser Point Bar and Grill at Wilderness Lodge and report back! I think it looks gorgeous....

I know many of us will be attending MNSSHP...so anyone thinking of costumes yet? I've never been a costume person, but for some reason dressing up for the party seems really fun to me. I have been fixated on it today, looking at pinterest and etsy for ideas. I have a terrible cold, so it's keeping my mind off that.

Snow White or something Haunted Mansion related are what I'm typically drawn to.

Does anyone have costume plans already??

We'll have our 3 kids (DD7, DS5, DD3). Thinking about 4pm reservation for BBB and/or PL to get them dressed up! princess:pirate:princess:

Waiting for the Southwest flight schedule to post. Once I get our flights I will go into full on hard core planning mode. The younger girls are geeked already. DD(16) (Vegan) is a little apprehensive about the food options. It is going to make planning a little more involved than usual...

Looked online at Southwest today and March 16th opens the Oct/Nov period!! :bounce:

We don't have Southwest out of O'hare. They fly out of Midway.

I don't know why, but I will only fly out of O'hare. Maybe growing up on the Northwest side, closer to O'hare.

I think it's a Chicago thing, like the Cubs or White Sox. You choose one and never go to the other. :p

October 7-13th, hopefully renting points for the Poly. We will certainly do the MNSSHP and a tour or two if available.
Party of 4...
Mike

Hi @MikeRx ! Welcome to the Club. :fish:

I added you to the front page, if you need me to change your hotel on the list, let me know and I can.

Yeah, excited for our October 8-14 trip! Rented DVC points and staying at BLT with a TPV. Worried about Fall Break crowds, but we'll work around it with good plans:) counting down to the 180 day mark!!! Now, trying to decide on upgrading to APs when we arrive. Oh yeah and I will get to celebrate my birthday Disney style during the trip!!

Cancelled my October WDW trip for the DCL Magic NYC Marvel Cruise. I do get 1 day at WDW but I'm hoping I'm making the right decision. Since I'm from the Boston area I rather liked the idea of sailing out of NYC. It's also a Marvel and Merrytime cruise. I'll see if I stick to it because it's very hard for me to give up WDW!

30 days until ADRs...decisions, decisions :mickeybar:cool1:popcorn::

Ugh...I'm trying to get my plans together for May, and your post just reminded me that I need to get my head in the game for October's ADRs! I have a few ideas, but haven't sat down and plugged them into a daily plan yet. I make mine on 4/18, and I'm afraid it's going to sneak up on me!!

We are booked for 29 Sep - 8 Oct at ASMu! It will be my daughter's first trip, SO excited!

My fox costume is coming together! Got my ears, gloves - in my avatar and now my tail! Check it out! So funny!

I am getting so excite and entering planning mode. Got my trusty notebook out and will begin coming up with at least 4 plans for parks/dining/MNSSHP, etc.
And trying to make a decision about adding a night on the front since I do not want to go travel from offsite the morning I check into BLT. Decisions, decisions.

My 180 isn't until May 2nd, but I feel the need to plan. So today at work, during my breaks and lunch I will be Disney planning.
