We are going to Disney from 12-4-04 - 12-10-04 and plan on visiting US 1 day. DW does not like roller coasters and so IOA looks like it might be out. So can anyone tell me what the best attractions at US are, what the Jaws ride is like, what the crowds, hours, and weather will be like at this time.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Also, we are staying at the WL and was wondering how long it will take to drive from WL to US.

Islands of Adventure is WAY more than coasters, there are only 2 and a half there!

Early December is one of the best times to go to Orlando. The weather is great and the crowds are low. Not sure about the hours but since it's off season chances are it will close about 6 or 7.

Jaws is like a real boat tour, one that gets attacked by a SHARK! The tour guide makes or breaks the ride, a good one can really get you going! You can get a bit wet on this ride, but not soaked.

At Universal Studios my faves are:

Men In Black
Jaws
Terminator 2
Jimmy Neutron
Ghostbusters

My son, 11, likes Back to the Future, ET and Shrek. Needless to say we fuss a lot!

We like just about everything at IOA!

The trip from Disney property to Universal property is about 20 minutes.

Hope that helps! :wave2: And WELCOME!

I created a monster :teeth: Just kidding, Robin! LOL :smooth:

My mom hates rollercoasters too, but loooves IOA. She likes going on Spiderman a lot!!

At Universal, definitely check out the shows. ESPECIALLY Ghostbusters and Blues Brothers since they will have some special holiday versions of their shows! :) Since you are going in early December, you may want to go to IOA also just to witness Grinchmas!

crow11ad - I'll go on Jaws with you. Forget the tourguide...I can make the ride interesting (I'm known to play the part of a "scared tourist"). Try to get into the acting...it makes the ride so much more fun for you...and the others!! ::yes::

Lol.... can't wait... I just don't know if we can afford both US and IOA. Plus with the hours the way the probably will be..may not be cost effective. I am sure we will have a blast espically since DW really loved MGM. So I see us doing 2 days at MK, 2 days at Epcot, 1 day at MGM, 1 day at AK and 1 day at US. I just wish we can hurry and pay off the trip, that way we can see how much spening money we have compared to moving money... too bad it's not to FL.

Back to the Future is my absolute favorite ride at Universal!! The movie is one of my favorites, so that might be why! LOL I also love Jaws and ET!!

Have a great trip!! :)

How close does Jaws get to the boat and how wet do you get on the ride? Also, how long should it take to see US?

Jaws gets very close to the boat in a couple sequences. He's probably about 8 feet away, so nobody could touch him. It looks closer, though. And wetness is random. It's usually just a splash that takes 30 mins or less to dry off...

any idea how long the ride is? This ride seems like it is fun.

Jaws is about 5 mins ride and lots of fun:jester: if u get a good guide:)

SO for the time were going, 12-4-04 - 12-10-04, is the crowds like non there?

The crowds will be light when you go. A 20 minute wait might be your longest wait of the day. But it could always be higher or lower...

As you DW does not like coasters, she may not like the Back To The Future ride as it's a simulator that does throw one about somewhat (it's a high sicky ride for those with weak stomachs!)

But the Back to the Future is at IOA, correct? I hope we have time for UNI. But if not, just means another trip.

No. Back to the Future is at Universal Studios, not IOA.

well in that case we may have to go.
