I just wanted to tell you that we just got home from camping in Sarasota and my daughter went fishing for the first time! She "caught" a kayak and broke her pole. We had to go back to whale mart and get her a new one. I just remember when we got our camper you said don't forget the poles. Thanks for the advise it made for a nice family memory.

Hey! Take it to email.....

just kidding.

Holiday Cove RV resort. It was great! All of the sites are pavers and level. We backed up to a canal and dock. we saw manatees, herons, egrets you name it. It is a small park but 3/4 mile from the beach. Really nice people!

We saw this park last year when we visited Anna Maria Island. They were just beginning to renovate it. We saw them putting in pavers...but I wasn't sure if that was for those who were purchasing sites or not. Looks like a great location. Glad to hear you had a good time.
We will be checking it out again next month when we go back to Anna Maria. I e-mailed just a couple of days ago, wondering if they had a storage area. Thinking of maybe leaving our trailer, and then having them place it on site for us...but they don't. They did recommend a storage place down the road and sent me the phone number. Seem like nice people..very helpful. Rates look VERY good..and it's so close to the beach as well.
Just curious...was their security..and do you feel that it needed any?..

We felt very safe but there was no security. I will say this when you pick a site ask for the back. The ones in the front are on a very busy and loud road. All of the sites are pavered. I know Riverside has that park and stay program you are talking about.

Okay, not to get technical, but Holiday Cove is in Bradenton! ;)

If you could have seen that park 5 years ago, you would never have stayed there. My DH grew up with the former owners' son.

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself. Holiday Cove is truly a nice place now. My MIL lives about 8 miles from there & the last time we went to see her, we drove thru it. I'd recommend it to anyone now. :thumbsup2

I was looking at their rates and I could stay a month for what a week in one of the resorts on Anna Maria is costing us. Make that two months.:sad2: Something to think about that's for sure :rolleyes1 I'd love to get the trailer down there and stay for a while.

When we drove through the only thing up and running was the pool. The grounds were all torn up..and aside from a couple of sites done in pavers it was a sand/mud mess. Difficult even to drive through. We got some dirty looks too..don't think we should have been in there with the construction going on. But..you know me...I had to see it! Quite a difference a year makes.

Deb...they have the address as being located in "Cortez" ...on Cortez road as well. Is that a different way of saying Bradenton?... Or is that actually another part of town?...http://holidaycoverv.com/home.htm

In any case..it is literally right before the bridge to Anna Maria...the resort we stayed in last year..(Tradewinds) was just the other side of the bridge on Anna Maria. Reading through the website it looks as if they are trying to sell the sites to make it a condo/RV resort. About 33 or 34 of them have been sold. The prices last year were around $95,000 to $135,000 . I see this year, they are asking as much as $165 -$170,000. That sure seems a lot for an RV site, with cheapest coming in at around $110,000. I wonder if they are really able to get that given the turn in the economy. :confused3
The nightly/weekly/ and even monthly rates seem reasonable compared to some I've seen.

Fishing,,,it's an adventure ! :thumbsup2 Tellmyour little one, thats whats great about fishing, you never know what you'll catch ! :lmao: And for young'ns, it can be the very best of a time . Not to mention all the beauty you get to see around the water that you would miss inland. :thumbsup2

So glad it was a great time.

Keep on fishing !!
