Hey Danny25

I want to caution everyone to never ever make any changes in plans until Disney themselves makes something official. Until they do, they can always pull back a promo or change dates at the last minute and nobody knows what's in their mind but them.

I'd hate to see someone get backed into a corner based upon information received here, no matter how reliable it may be. Even the most reliable information is subject to change, stranger things have happened.

Happy thoughts!!!

Exactly!

One other thing to be aware of with a split stay is that in order to qualify for a FD offer the entire package (including park passes) must be purchased. If you want to go to the parks for the first day or two of a stay, before a FD offer you'll need to purchase passes for that.

Then, when the FD offer becomes effective you'll need to purchase new passes thus paying the premium price of Days 1, 2 and 3 again.

That incorrect. You can do a split say with a room only for 3 nights and a second reservation for your remaining dates to apply the free dining discount. You can pick up your package tickets up to 3 days early at Guest Services at any of the parks or Downtown Disney.

Thanks! But you can't pick up your passes at your hotel when you check in for your room only ressie?

The Little Mermaid rooms have been blacked out for virtually all general public discounts and I don't see that changing anytime soon - little to no chance of that happening.

Yes, the LM rooms are usually exempt although they have had some promos on them in the past. I was expecting that if an offer came out we would have to make a decision on what was more important, saving money or the resort we were in. Looking at the prices we would pretty much break even if we got a QSDP free with moving up to a suite at AoA. If it wasn't offered at AoA at all we might move to a mod or Pop depending on the deal.

No, you will need to see a Guest Services manager at one of the parks or Downtown Disney.

Thanks for clarifying. I had heard of some people being denied the ability to pick up their passes at Guest Services early but have no personal experience of this happening. Sounds like as others have said this exception is few and far between.

It's good to know that the park passes can be picked up early when a room only ressie is in hand and then still use them when a package begins a few days later.

Booked our first WDW trip this year for 8/11-8/17 only because these are our best available dates. Staying at AoA Nemo suite.

I budgeted for the full price and added dining so any discount will just be bonus to me.

Do I really need to be on the phone begging for a discount on 4/2? Will we hear of the discount before that or are we just hoping it comes out that day and start calling?

From what I'm reading here I may only get a small discount for 1/2 my trip correct? Unless another discount starts up during my stay...

Any tips to getting this discount for a noobie?

;) You must know the dates then if you know the op's dates are excluded!! Want to share?? I would just love you forever if you ended all of our waiting misery!!

Sorry but I don´t know any kind of dates I´m only saying what It´s my feeling based in past offers, nothing it´s clearly yet:thumbsup2

That's not exactly accurate. You can't really rent points at a deluxe villa resort for the price of a value resort - and certainly aren't going to get that kind of deal trying to rent DVC points for mid August this late in the game, it's the end of March.

For example AKV studio value view for August 15 to 30, 10 points per nigth at 10 $ per pont it¨s 100 nigth, BWV it{s the same price for a studio, YES you can rent a DVC studio for the price of a value mu friend I¨m correct :thumbsup2

Im sure a lot of people would love to see the link to that deal. I don't think I've ever seen anything under $12 per point at AKL and certainly not booking 5 months out. You might get $11 per point at Saratoga 11 months out, but it's still not going to be as cheap as a value resort. And renting DVC points, when absolutely no other discounts are available, is really only a consolation for people looking to book deluxe. For people looking for a discount at a value or moderate resort during those dates, renting expensive DVC points is little to no consolation at all.

I wonder if this still will be the case with the new bracelets that will be your park admission once they get that system totally up and running. I wouldn't get my hopes up that you will be able to get the park tickets early especially if this new system is in use when you travel

I may be totally incorrect

Ooh, that is a good point. Not sure how those bracelets are going to work.

They were bookable before they opened under a fall promo for about a week before Disney realized and corrected it.

They've never been intentionally included in anything.

Sorry but do you know how the renting of dvc points works? Have you rented before?, I don´t want to explain to you, and I respect your opinion but you are wrong, and I have rented many times studios for a lower price than a value.
Thank you and it´s finished the conversation for me :thumbsup2

Perfectly aware of how renting DVC points works. Would still just like to see where you got point costs that low at those DVC properties.

Thank you :thumbsup2, I have sayed this and I have recomended this to others friends here because I have rented many times in the past for a lower price than a value, but really when I have looked at the entire conversation with the OP I decided to finish it, sometimes I preffer to help others friends here and not waste my time with conversations that don´t will arrive at any point. Thank you again my friend and Happy Eastern to you and your family :cheer2:

In have rented points 3 times. The last was my best deal ever. 6 nights savannah studio at akv kidani for $720. I believe it was around $6 per point. I have also rented a 1 bedroom in Ike for 7 nights for $900 and that was booked 6 months out.

I want to thank you again for the info and advice Danny25. I hope that you know I am grateful you replied to my question. Even if my dates never match up to any Disney resort deals it is really great to hear your advance news that send out when you can.

Still my favorite Danny! ;)
