Ow did you bathe your infant when at Disney? We are taking a plane so only the essentials can come. I'm curious how all of you managed to bathe your babies in Disney and all other tips may be helpful . Thanks!

How old is your little one? I always worried about keeping non-submerged parts warm, but when we travelled with our babies and didn't have the tub insert with us I would lay a hand towel in the bottom of the bath tub and fill with just a few inches of water. If you don't have too much of a squirmer this may work, it's just a bit of a pain to lean over the tub. The towel helps with the slippery surface and keeps them a bit warmer. GL!

My infant was 9 months old when we went to Disney with him. I just brought him in the shower with me. I got in the shower, hubby handed him to me, I held him and washed him and after I rinsed him off, handed him back to hubby. The same way I did it at home most of the time. Sometimes I'd put him in the tub or the kitchen sink and let him play, but most of the time we just got down to business and used the shower for bathing to save time.

On cruise ships where there are no tubs, I hear folks take inflatable infant tubs. I just googled it and they are around $14. So that should pack nice and flat in a suitcase, then inflate upon arrival. This will provide a smaller tub for your baby if you are worried about bathing in a larger tub. Also, takes less water. :)

If baby isn't a steady sitter yet they do have foldable bath slings that get quite small :) We used one for our last two babies due to a space shortage ;) in our home but I bet they'd work for traveling as well

I've always showered with my babies, and will do so on our trip. At home, I have baby in a bouncer on the floor until I've washed myself, then I bring baby in with me and wash him. They've all loved the feel of the warm water on their skin while snuggled up against mama. At the hotel, I will have to figure out where to keep him until I'm ready to bring him in. It depends on how mobile he is by then.

The sink. We use the kitchen sink at home, so the bathroom sink at Disney can't be much worse. Put a towel on the bottom and you're good to go.

I had this large sponge type thing that was part of a kiddie pool, that I used when traveling. It would fit in the bottom of the suit case perfectly, It was about 24 inches long, and about 20 inches wide. I used one of those giant zip lock baggie things to transport in. I would take one of the hand towel and cover her in the tub while bathing.

Also I have done the shower method, I would get in take my shower, my Mom would hand me the Baby... wash, rinse, snuggle, kiss and hand him back out to my mom all done...

All vacations, and all the kids and grandkids were done this way. Never lost one to the drain yet. We have always used the kitchen sink too.
I just couldn't hold a slippery kiddo in the shower.

When DS was 6 weeks old, I had him in the tub with me and he had a "Caddy Shack" moment, which resulted in me running into the shower with him! LOL!!

I've been showering with my babies ever since...especially on vacation!

My friend used something similar to this (I think she bought it at Toys R' Us) and just put it in a shallow tub.

She used one of those vacuum zip bag type of things to flatten it out so took up hardly any room in the luggage.

Since it was not too expensive, they just left it there...their luggage was too full with souvenirs to fit it for the way home :)

I travelled quite a bit with babies/young toddlers. We don't do "tubby time" at home where they can sit and play and splash, so we really just needed a quick/basic way to wash them in the hotel similar to our routine at home. I would just take a spare towel or hand towel when they were really small and lay it on the bottom of the tub and fill with about 1-2 inches of water and lay them on that. It only takes a minute or two to bathe them that way. I would usually either bring or save one of the small plastic kids cups you get at resteraunts to use then I could just throw it away at the end of the week. Easy and basically free!
