If you book Chef Mickeys brunch at the last slot (2:25 PM) there are NO more reservations again until 5 PM, correct? So what will happen to the 2:25 PM diners? Do we get rushed through our meal as the place is emptied out for the 5 PM change over? I tried to get a dinner slot but everything was booked...

You'll never be rushed through a meal.
I certainly hope not - esp since C Mickeys is pretty expensive. However it is a buffet. My fear is that 5 minutes after we arrive they will start removing dishes and cleaning up for the dinner shift. As I said, I can't find any other ADR's that day..

They won't.
The last ADR time is the last time guests will arrive.
They wouldn't just take everything away.
I think the problem is you're thinking in terms of a local restaurant where closing time is closing time.
Disney is different.

Exactly. These restaurant are used to running all day, and way past closing time at night. Thye do nto specify a hard close, just when they stop taking diners in to be seated.

OP- you will not be rushed, and you will have plenty of fresh food.

Thx to both of you for te answers... What about the characters though? Won't they be leaving at the change over?

Characters will be there until every guest has had the opportunity to see them. You need to stop worrying. They do this 365 days per year. They know what they are doing. If guests were not getting what they paid for Disney wouldn't be in business.

Characters are union employees so they do have a hard stop, however I have only seen one instance in over ten years that character interaction was rushed to honor the contract. I would not worry one second.

I have read reviews that taking one of the last brunch ADRs is actually a great strategy for meeting the characters because the restaurant will be emptying out as you eat your meal so the characters get more time at each table and/or make multiple stops at your table by the time you get towards the end of your hour or so eating time. You won't be rushed and you'll likely have a great overall experience.
