Here's a pic of my now 9-yr-old dd with special needs. Some of you might remember that she takes Irish Dance lessons, and competes since she loves performing (the judge is REALLY WATCHING, lol). Well, dd also is meticulous with daily practicing, and has been moving up competition levels like other kids her age! They must place to move up, then they compete only against other kids who have moved up. When on the stage, she is way smaller than the other 8 + 9 yr olds, and doesn't wear a wig (SID -- the wigs bother her). She wears a simpler dress because her school doesn't have a more level-appropriate one her size. She never, ever WINS (1st place), but she has been getting medals, even at the higher competition level!! Her vision problems get her into some issues, sometimes -- like when she can't tell where the edge of the stage is, or where the other dancer is (they dance 2 or 3 at a time). But she is so happy when she finishes a dance right on time to the music!!

Here she is showing some off:

Since we don't have any Irish dancer icons, you have to image that's what these are.

What a beautiful little dancer. I know that you are so proud! Keep having happy feet on the dance floor!
