Hey 12/7 cruisers...

But he has a gorgeous black suit that he will be wearing. Ds Mike has a olive green one with a gold tie and I picked up the infamous blue dress today from the seamstress, she hemmed it perfect.
I have a terrible soar throat and head cold at the moment ( a side effect from teaching preschool all the kiddies want to have hugs from me when THEY are sick. I have a small temp and so does mike so if by monday we are not well it will be off to the Dr.'s for strep tests, luckally we have two weeks left, plenty of time to recoup.
I for one am not too concerned about this virus scare, heck teaching preschool I must get a stomach flu at least once or twice each year- my dress will look even better on me if I have a day or so of "extreem evacuation" :)
My motto,, Even sick in the caribbean beats any day in cold Massachusetts!

I will probably leave the tux at home. A suit will be fine. Thank you all for replying.

AnnMorin, I certainly hope you fight off this bug real soon. You should be fine by the 7th. And hopefully the Disney crew will be able to sanitize the ship by then and rid the Magic of any further problems.

I happened to be watching Lou Dobbs on CNN tonight and if I am not mistaken, I think he takes delight out of Disney’s current situation. I can't stand that guy and will never watch him or CNN any more.

Let’s all say a pray that the “virus” is removed this weekend for all those passengers that will be boarding tomorrow and the weeks to come and pray that those passengers that came down with the virus recover very quickly.

OK, a little Pixie Dust won’t hurt either.

See you real soon.

Pat

It is costing $450 to board are 3 dogs and $150 to board are macaw.....The MAGICAL disapearance of money is already starting and we have not stepped on the boat yet...Michelle or anyone know the movies on board on for the 7th?

so you guys are still assuming you're cruising? We're planning both - a cruise and a backup trip to WDW if necessary. Wishing the Magic the best of luck today.

I certainly have not be led to believe that we would not be.
With all do respect Imgoingtodisney I think you need to chill out. You are going to give yourself a nervous breakdown!! There is not a thing any of us can do to change this situation so you can not obsess about it. Would I be dissapointed if my cruise was cancelled-yes. Would my world end? Would it be like hearing I had cancer or something-no. Plans would have to change. They have two weeks still to get a handle on this. Frankly if Disney was so concerned for my health and not concerned about their losing all that money that they cancelled my cruise I would say it must be the right call. I would just have my birthday at home and cruise another time I guess. Dissapointing yes-devestating, life altering-no.

Yes Barb, of course we're still planning that we're cruising, it's two weeks away. :)

In the highly unlikely event that we did NOT cruise, I'm sure Disney would make everyone an offer at that point regarding accommodations at WDW. :)

Have fun on YOUR cruise! :sunny:

you guys have 2weeks - we dont! We leave the house in 5 days! They didnt broadcast any problems until Thurs this week. Who's to say they wont broadcast a cancellation on Thurs this week?! By then it is too late for us, we'll have already left. Yes, I do know it's a different route.

I know it is really hard to deal with things that are out of your control. Right now I am sick as a dog with a head cold, sore throat and a fever of 102 degrees, it sucks that the doctor is not open until monday as I probably has strep throat but instead of obsessing about it (that you need to be on the antibiotics for ten days ) I just accept it and if I have to bring them with me I will.

There is ABSOLUTELY nothing you can do about this and worrying will just make you ill. If you have a heart attack from stressing you aren't going on ANY cruise in five days. I am sure by weds. they will know if people are getting sick again or not. Then you simply decide what you want to do. Try to put this in perspective- I know you have been looking forward to this for a long time but it IS just a trip. It CAN be rescheduled. A co-teacher of mine just found out her husband who is only 37 has cancer now THAT is a life altering experience.

You need to accept the things you can not have influence over and grab the concept what will be will be. Disney is trying their best to deal with it.

Ann, I'm so sorry you're so sick, big HUGS and hope you feel better soon!

I agree with Ann! Everything will be ok. Disney will make sure of it. Worse case is they send you to WDW all expenses paid! To me, that would be fine, it's still vacation! As long as I am somewhere warm (it is supposed to snow snow snow here for the next week!), and I am with my family, I don't care if it is cruising or WDW. I also am of the firm belief that we will be cruising with NO problems! For one thing, it was a VERY small percentage of people that got sick!
Ann, sorry you are feeling bad too! I have had the same thing for a week now!:( Guess we are just trying to get the sickies out of us before we cruise? :) I'd rather get this cold now then in two weeks!
BTW, TWO WEEKS from today we will be boarding the ship!!!

Lisa

I am sure I will recoup just fine, frankly I STILL would rather be sick on a ship that feeling fine here at home :) It is another grey day- the forth in a row, just raw and grey I can't wait to see the sun!

I have to go with Michelle and Ann.... the sun will come up tomorrow! It's a stomach virus for god's sake and unless you have a comprimised immune system or major health problems.. you'll be fine. The chance of you catching it are small anyway.

Hi all!
Snowing here in Wisconsin tonight... about 3 inches! NOW I AM READY!!! I think i want to move somewhere warm!

Well.. at least vacation somewhere warm...

:smooth:

So... no real reason for this post... just wanted to see my counter again.. LOL

Praying for warm beautiful weather, healthy cruisers, safe flights, and Awsome vacations!!!

Jodie

guys - did you see the latest 11/30 thread? Its not just me now -Disney told 1 of us fellow DIS cruisers that they wont know till Fri if we cruise on Sat or not! By then it's too late - our family will already be in FL!

Jodie, We got over 4 inches of snow last night and it is still SNOWING! I am sooooo ready to be sipping a BBC on deck!:)

imgoingtodisney: well, if you get to Florida and can't cruise, you can still vacation! I am sure Disney will make it right. The thing is not to have a stress attack about and just be excited that you get to leave in just a few days!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Here's to 12 more days!!!!!

Lisa

Just ANOTHER cold grey day, it's 1:40 and looks like 5pm it is so overcast. On the medical front my throat is feeling better, cold has moved on to my chest (inching its way through my body apparently) Mike woke up with a sore throat (quite red) so I am taking him for a strep test at 2:30, at least we have ten days for him to take the meds if he has it. I made an appt with my doctor for weds if I don't feel better, I wonder if there is a way my son's doctor would do a quick strep test on me... although my throat is not an issue really anymore..

I can't wait to go feel and some sunshine (the best medicine!)

Well it cooled down here too, from the 80s to the high 60s! :p :teeth:

Sorry, I feel for you folks in the snow, I grew up in it and would be happy to never see snow again. :)

Glad you're feeling a little better, Ann, now get everyone else in the family healthy too! :)

>>Well it cooled down here too, from the 80s to the high 60s!

Oh hee hee Michelle!:) See, now I will appreciate the tropical breezes more than you, since you are used to warm weather!:)
It actually cleared up and is bright and sunny this afternoon.

Ann, keep popping those zinc/vit c, it is actually helping to kick this out of my system faster than usual.

BTW, I am cheating and going to the tanning bed to get a head start on that tan. Don't want you all scaring easily when us pale folks from Colorado show up!:) That at least gives me the "feeling" of being in a warm climate! LOL
And Ryan (ds) set up a "beach" for me in the living room this morning to "unwind" in. Complete with beach blanket, umbrella, heat lamp, and "island music". Sometimes they can surprise us...eh?:)

Lisa

Me too Lisa,, some of us with the northern sun are a scarey white site. Maybe thats why all those folks got sick too many ghosts from MA. and Colorado showed up at ones and started the s*** out of them.. oh I know bad Ann tsk tsk

Mike's strep test was negative so that means he is just coming down with what I am getting over, started him on the zinc too so he should be fine by the time we leave. It is day four for me and I see a big difference the only real problem now is my chest.

I wish the sun would come out a person could get depressed with no sun for so long-not me though I am still riding high on sudefed :)

I had to laugh at the comments on being so white! See, my DH was just remarking last night about how my legs are so white the ship won't need to turn on their lights when I am around - sure, he has that dark swarthy Italian coloring so he thinks he can laugh at my pale European-ness. Well I will show him - when those scallops come around at dinner, I will take them all from him so he will just have to suffer!:p

I am so ready for some tropical warmth. Our high here today was 30. I keep hearing about this El Nino warming things up in IL, but it hasn't happened yet!

Hey Michelle, you've been in December before - if the air in Castaway Cay in only in the upper 60's (worst case scenario), is the water still comfortable from the summer warm-up? I have told my SIL how wonderful Castaway Cay is and if it is too cold to snorkel I will have to reserve some bikes for island exploration.

And Ann, here is an Old World Grandma remedy for any illness - eat some raw onions and garlic. My Grandma swore this worked, and if nothing else, you won't get anyone else sick because no one will want to be around you!:D

Here's hoping we are all healthy and no one gets sick between now and disembarkation!
