I heard there is a Hess station at DTD ! This is our 1st trip so I have a couple of questions lol

1.) is it within walking distance from say T-Rex ?
2.) if I buy a case of water will we be able to bring that on the bus back to our resort AOA?
3.) is it like a regular gas station meaning they have water/milk candy, chips and stuff ??

We will not have a car that is why I'm asking

I know there is garden grocer but I only really need water and milk so I won't really qualify for the Minimum purchase. And really don't want to but extra stuff thats not needed just to reach the minimum lol.

Thanks Kim ...

Yes it is walkable and yes, it sells your typical gas station items. I wouldn't think its an issue to bring water on the bus.

There is also a Hess Express about .25 mi from the front of the boardwalk resort.

The yellow circle is the Boardwalk bus stop and the red circle is the Hess Express.

Check the price of milk at AoA before you go to the Hess. In the past 1/2 gallon of milk hasn't been too overpriced at the resorts so it might not be worth the effort to lug that back from Hess.

Don't forget that that case of water will get very heavy on that walk.

I would buy the milk at the resort and have the water delivered from amazon or staples.

Thank you I will definitely check out the resort 1st !! I did plan on DH to carry the water ;-) but I can have water shipped to my resort ?? Is there an extra charge ? How early should I do this??? we arrive May 5Th !!!

Thanks

The resort won't charge you. I ordered it from staples.com and it was pretty cheap, but that was 5 years ago.

When you should order it depends on the shipping time frame for the company you order it from, but you should shoot to have it delivered a day or two before you arrive.

You might also consider:

- Get sport bottles and some Crystal Light to mask the taste of Orlando water. Ice water is FREE at any WDW counter service restaurant (including walkups like Sunshine Tree Terrace)

- Or buy a sport bottle with filters. We used them and they worked great. Rubbermaid makes one as well as other vendors. About $10 each.

Either way, easier than lugging multiple bottles from your resort in your day bag. Refill as needed during the day.

Trust me that isn't normal Orlando water. I think Disney has their own well and it is high in iron content or they don't have as good quality of water filtering system in use.

Take the DTD bus to Pleasure island walk to the right away from PI... it is maybe 5 minutes including waiting for the light.
Bring your carry on bag if it is a larger size for water.. Milk is about the same price and sometimes less at the resorts.

We have thought about doing the same thing. We ended up just buying a few things here and shipping it to our resort. Worked out very well for us and maybe something you could look into .. Good luck and enjoy !

You cannot bring a carry on bag on disney buses.

You'd be better off going to the Hess by the Boardwalk Inn -- as this map shows...

Oh, and it's even further to the other DTD bus stop...

But then they have to get from Boardwalk to their resort.

I would just order from somewhere. When I don't have a car I just order from Garden Grocer and get snacks, and sunscreen (so I don't have to worry about it in my suitcase) and liquid hand soap so we don't have a gooey bar at the sink...

Yeah, my take too, but if they're bound and determined to walk to a Hess station, the one by Boardwalk is their best bet.

We walked from the DTD bus stop and it wasn't very far, but a little dicey crossing the four lane highway.....
