Hesitant to visit during Crowded times

I'm very hesitant to go to WDW during the summer and holidays. I've gone twice around Christmas/New Years and it was awful (too crowded). A couple friends on mine want to take a trip this summer but I've been spoiled by going at non-peak times. If I plan a trip for this summer, am I going to regret it? I almost feel like maybe just going to Disney for the resorts and skipping the parks but I doubt I would convince my friends to do the same.

Anyone else have this problem/hesitation?princess:

I love going in the summer because they have plenty of shows to see. Use fastpass for rides that one to see.

Majic Kingdom is most visit park in the summer of them all.

So go to Epcot , Animal Kingdom and MGM Studios those and still get alot done.

Go to Downtown Disney and look around the shops.

I would go in with the idea that I don't have see everything and what I do see in shows and rides good.

Try the week after the 4th of July. Most people have left Disney or just got back from camping or other family vacation so most people don't take that week off.

I found the crowds to be WAY better then Christmas time, which is by far the worst IMO.

We used to take our kids out of school to go in lesser crowded times, but now that they are older it is just too hard to miss school. Our last trip was Spring Break, end of March. Our next will be summer 05. We have been many times in the summer. It is hot, but as long as you are not there 4th of July it is not nearly as crowded as Easter or Christmas. As long as you don't go commando you will be alright. We never try to do and see EVERYTHING on every trip because we know we will be back in a year or so. Get to the parks early every day, and if the crowds start getting too bad go back and swim at the resort in the afternoon. Don't try to talk your friends out of doing the parks. Each persons tollerance for waiting (and heat) is different. Waiting 30 minutes or so doesn't bother our gang too much, especially for the attractions they really love. We don't really love the thrill rides, and those always have the longest lines anyway. Try doing/seeing some things you usually skip!

We used to go in the summer, but with DH's schedule, it is harder now. We now go in the Fall and love it.

Going in the summer has many advantages - the parks are open later, there are more shows, most rides are operational.

The crowds, to me, aren't that bad. Granted you may have waits of 30-45 minutes for the popular attractions, but nothing like over a holiday period.

Other than the heat, the summer is not a bad time to go - it will be fun!!

We vowed to never go in the summer again(unless we win a free trip). Not because of the crowds but because of the heat. We went in July 2000 and it was sOOOO hot both me and my mil got heat exhaustion. It was horrible and WE live in South GA and are used to that kind of heat.

Thanks so much! I'm feeling much better about a possible summer trip. princess: I think I'll be okay with the heat. Lots of water and water rides.
