Trip with DBF is Jan 2-7. So I made all my ADRs at 180 days out... just the kind of person I am ;)

I found out (thanks to a Diser) that Kona took mahi-mahi of their menu. Well now I need another dinner ADR because I was really looking forward to a good fish dish while DBF could have his steak.

I consider DBF fairly picky, standard "find anywhere" food only
I'm not picky and I want a good fish dish for at least one night of our trip.

Any suggestions? It's our first night, we are spending the day at MGM

(other dinner adr's include House of Blues and Le Cellier)

I would say Artist Point or Jiko if you don't mind spending a little bit more money. They both have good steak options as well as fish

If you don't want to do the 2 table service.. How about Grand Floridian Cafe? My dh had the Prime Rib and I had the Pan Roasted Salmon...Both were very good. Another place was Chefs de France. My dh had the tenderloin which was very good and I had fish there which was good also. At Coral Reef, my dh had a strip steak and asked for plain mashed potatoes instead of their offer with the steak. I had Mahi with mashed potato. These were both very good.

Most restaurants have fish dishes, vegetarian dishes, steak meals etc. so you can basically go anywhere and both of you will be suited well. If your dbf is a "picky" eater he too can eat very well...My dh wants his steaks/chickens plain with no butters/sauces etc. on them and he doesn't want "fancy" style potatoes or pastas with other than butter or plain sauce so that's the way he orders his meals and they are more than happy to help you out.

Did you look at the new Kona menu? The mahi-mahi is gone, but there is a new tuna dish that sounds wonderful and an ono dish that I'm looking forward to trying simply because it is something I've never had before. So while the mahi-mahi was removed, it looks like it has been replaced with TWO good fish entrees.

How about Coral Reef....we were there in August....(my hubby and I are the opposite of you...I am picky...he is not!!) He got the Mahi Mahi...I got the steak!! Surprise Surprise!! Both dishes were fabulous!! They even put my potatoes and veggies on a separate plate...I am a little OCD about my food touching!!:confused3 Good luck!!

I would go to Flying Fish. They have the fish for you and a great steak for him. Since you will be at MGM take the boat or walk to the Boardwalk.

Thanks for the great ideas guys I'm going to call Disney Dining and see what I can get.

And thanks for the point that HE can get his steak plain with plain mashed potatoes at many places.

Jiko and Artist point are great ideas but they would be "lost" on him and just not worth it. Hopefully, I can get my parents to join me one day and we can do both along with Flying Fish and Citrocos (all of which I would love to try!)

Ok, switched some plans around and made an ADR for Grand Floridian Cafe and Rose and Crown (on two separate nights)

If he's against Rose and Crown, I'll cancel it- but now I'm realizing that we should go to Margaritaville (at Citywalk) that first night and have the opportunity to see Illuminations our first full day :thumbsup2

Would you happen to know where I can find the new Kona menu? It doesn't look like allears updated theirs.

LOL....good to hear about the separate plates. DW is the same as you. :rotfl: DS and I are not picky eaters like DW. We're trying the Coral Reef for the first time during our November trip. :dance3:
