After our trip around the Land, we tok a trip on Soarin and got the first row again. This is the only way to fly; lots of leg room. :lmao: We then made are way to the World Showcase to simply enjoy the sights and have lunch at the Tangierine Cafe. we both tried some cominatin plates and pooksma tried lamb for the first time ever. :thumbsup2

We finished up with another walk and back to CBR to relax for the afternoon. We were planning on spending our last evening at AK for EMH (We did but I did somethig that still makes me angry with myself. stay tuned.)

I did set up the shot but I don't remember if that was the first or second monorail.

What happened is something that I can correct, I just have to go back again (soon). Nothing bad though, I mean I diodn't gethurt or hurt anyone. :rotfl2:

Well, that's good to know - about not hurting anyone, that is!

Very nice pictures. I'm looking forward to seeing all that awesome World Showcase architecture again next week.

How's the kitty doing? Happily being spoiled, I imagine. Mine is asleep on my bed right now - all curled up comfy cozy. He thinks he owns this place, and we're all just his servants - the petters, the feeders, and the scoopers!

What a fantastic picture! Enjoyed the update!

Thanks.

Luca is doing great. We think he is channeling Digger though. He is taking on some of his traits, like figuring out the toilet paper makes for a fun toy, and hiding and jumping us as we walk by. Of course they could be simple young cat activities. :lmao:

Yes, I can't wait to see how DH explains what will go down in our Disney History book as one of the biggest BONEHEAD moves!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

(Sorry honey. I didn't say anything THEN...I saved it for here!)

Hey guess what all??? More newbies are being sucked in by our DISnification! DH's brother is taking his family on a SURPRISE trip in ONE MONTH!!!!

Hey, Ma! Haven't heard from you in a while. Being back at school kind of gets in the way of the fun stuff, huh?

Do tell.
Do we get to know about the bonehe.... uh, the unfortunate, accidental mistake Dad made before I leave on Monday? I don't know if I'll be able to enjoy my trip fully if I am held in suspense.

Plus, it would be for the good of the entire trip - you might save me from making the same mistake.

You're sharing the Disney love with the family. How fun! Maybe there will be an all-family Grand Gathering in the future.

Don't worry, I will fill you in before you leave. It is a move that you could make but I don't think you will.

great update and gorgeous photos.

So, are you ready for our last night and my bonehead move.....

We had decided that our last night would be at AK. It was EMH and we had never been to an evening EMH at AK. We had seen pictures and it looked very beautiful. we had reservation for the Yak and Yeti and plans for EE in the dark. What could go wrong?

We left for Ak around 5:30 as our reservations were 7ish. Got there without too much of a problem and made out way to the gate. Through bag check and the turnstiles, all is good. Strolled through the Oasis, starting to get darker (dusk). The Tree of Life is being lit up as is Everest. This is amazing I think to myself as I stop to get my camera out.

As I pull my bag around I notice the main section is open. That weird, I must have forgot to zip it up after the bag check. Reach in and and grab the tripod, reach in again and find nothing else. Panic sets in.

Where is my camera? I lost my camera and all the trip pictures.

Pooksma asks what is wrong?

I tell her the camera is gone and I'm ready to run back to the front of the park. I started to think. I go through everything I did since getting ready to leave the room. I come to the conclusion that I left it in the room (I hope). What a stupid move! How could I forget my camera? This was our 4th trip to WDW and about our 25th day in the parks and I have never been without my camera. And there is so much to photograph here at night.

So, here we are spending our last night in the park and I have no photographs of AK afterdark. It still burns me to look through the pictures and see this as the last picture of the day.

Throughout the rest of the night I was told, "That would make a nice pitcture."

As for what we did do. We watched Tough to Be A Bug. Always liked this show. We didn't have to wait so it was that much better.

We checked in at the Yak and Yeti and waited about 10 minutes for our table. We had a seat on the second floor, at a window overlooking the front of the restaurant. We were able to watch a group of rude people smoke and use other peoples wheelcharis and strollers as seats. The food was good. Sweet and Sour Chicken, Brown Rice, Cherry Lemonade, and Deep Fried Wontons for pooksma; Shoaling Steak and Shrimp, Coke, and Deep Fried Wontons for me.

After dinner, we went to my favourite show, FOTLK. We set in the Lion section and were entertained by two lovely little girls. They were right on the end and the cast memebers were constantly interacting with them. IT was fun to watch.

Next up was EE. We waited about 35 minutes but what a rush to do this at night. The outside sections were very cool but inside the mountain, it was pitch black. can't wait to try it again.

After that we headed sadly back to the resort and much to my relief, my camera laying on the table.

One more part day left and that is our departure day.

Night all.

Sorry your forgot your camera, but lucky for you it was in the room! Totally sounds like something I would do! ;)

That's a shame about your camera! Dinner sounds wonderful, though. The inside of EE is always dark for me because I instinctively close my eyes to live through it. :lmao:

Everest is more intense than I had thought. I thought it was going to be a little milder - maybe kin to Big Thunder Mountain, but it was a pretty wild ride, I thought.

Well, Dad, I don't know if I would ever leave my camera, because I always have it strapped around my neck.....

now.

You may not recall that on the trip two summers ago, I left the camera sitting on a bench one night. I had been watching Brooklynn while all the others went to ride (I think) Space Mountain. They came out, and we gathered up and walked on. Close to the castle, I wanted to take a picture, and then I realized I had set the camera down so I wouldn't clonk Brooklynn in the head with it when I leaned over. Luckily, we went back and it was still there.

So, now I just keep it around my neck at all times, and if Brooklynn gets clonked in the head when I lean over to do something for her, then she does. She's gotten kind of used to it!

Oh my gosh! That is always my nightmare, that I will forget my camera when I go to WDW! Of course, in my actual nightmare that I do get from time to time, I forget it at HOME!

I'm glad for you that you were able at least see AK at night. I haven't yet. I'm sure you will get back again sometime soon (even with the dollar right now) and you will get some really great pictures of AK at night!

Oh how disappointing for you not to have pictures. :sad2: At least you didn't lose the camera. That's one of my big fears too. Can't believe the tr is coming to an end.

LOL. It did make me wonder all everning if it was in the room or if I had lost it.

You wouldn't have to worry at night. It is so dark you can't see anything at all.

Must make it hard to sleep and such with the camera around your neck all the time. ;)

It is quite a place at night. There are some areas that are really dark and then others that ate truly amazing.

It was the only real disappointing part of the trip. It does seem weird that were almost all through the report. Seems like it was a short trip. I have been keeping up with your report. It seems like you had a great time.

That would have been a bummer! I haven't pulled that one yet, but I have walked away from my camera bag several times at WDW and had to go back and get it. Sigh.

So...would you recommend a couples only trip? Was it worth it? Did you miss your son too much?
We're afraid we'd spend the whole time going "Wouldn't the kids LOVE this?"
LOL
Well, that and, dh says if we get a chance to get away, he doesn't want to go to WDW.
But I'm still thinking it would be fun.
Thanks for the great report!
